MANGOG FS !!!

#1 Post by Obscure Creator »

Hello people , first time i post here, it's such an amazing forum!
I'm trying to give Mangog the treatment he deserves :) the bust sculpted by Helder for Bowen Designs is fantastic but many important parts and aspects of this big monster can't portrayed totally with the bust limitations.
So the idea is to create a full size Mangog in scale with the Destroyer Thor statue sculpted by Helder and (hope) soon coming from Bowen Designs.
Helder will really like to be able to sculpt this monster and he likes the idea and concept.
How do you think people? Are some of you interested on this BIG monster to display him against all this Asgardians comming out recently?
You know, Destroyer Thor statue will need someone to be paired with...

Here's the concept for Mangog ,action pose, it can be about 18 inches tall without the base.(base showed is just temp. the idea is one base to match with Destroyer).

Very interesting! I haven't collected comics for awhile (my other hobbies tend to cost more :D ) but I remember Mangog. At 18" that is one hefty chunk of sculpt!

The idea is great especially when displayed with Thor. It would have to be large in order to be accurate. Mangog is about 12' tall which nearly twice Thor's height so he would be about 22" or more if he were standing straight up. Most likely a learning forward position is ideal (like the one shown) I thinking Mangog would about as big is Sideshow's PF Hulk or Abomination. The cost will have to be low especially in this economic climate so a semi hollow piece is more likely. A few painted pieces would go a long way in selling this. I just hope Bowen releases Thor/Destroyer to display with this.

Thanks Makkar1 , my friend Bobilero told me about you being a big Thor fan :)
I know Mangog is stated at 12' tall , but certanly a double size Thor standing monster can be a nightmare to display ,ship and even putting it facing other characters. At the showed pose it will remain tall enough (we are talking about 20"-21" when mounted on its base)to still looking as a "giant monster" but not too much tall to be out of place.
This way it can be displayed against Destroyer Thor very well,as they are near to get in close combat, remember that the Destroyer is a HUGE model, or it can be displayed surrounded by other asgardians as Thor,Odin or future Beta ray Bill on a kind of "Fight the monster!!" scene.
I have to discuss with Helder about the possibility to make it hollow where possible to keep the cost as down as possible.

Its been posted many times before in here that theres a serious lack of Thor related kits! I personally would like to see a few more pics of this! 8) Definetly a creature that only Jack "The King" Kirbys brilliance could concieve!
