I think at this point with both the Minotaurs that I definitely need to follow my wife’s usual smart advice and stop F’n with them.
If it were me, I would call the green one done.
I would think about adding a bit of highlights to the brown one though. But then again, I am on this 'highlight' kick after watching too many mini-painting videos.
I would agree with Trevor! 👍🤠

Joe! Just when I think you can do nothing more to surprise me, you pull this! 😳😳😳

You must give a short 'how to' primer on its own thread, demonstrating how you just did that! I can see many possible uses for the technique, especially on some dinosaur diorama I might decide to do!

Thanks Trevor and Vlad.

The splash was fairly easy.
Spread out some woodland scenics wave gel in a non stick pan in a circular design.
Making it thicker towards the center and thinner towards the outer edges.
Use a thin stir stick to make ripples throughout and rough up the outer edges.
Wait a day or two for it to firm up but still be pliable.
Use scissors to cut the circle into necessary sections depending on the shape of the splash.
Glue splash pieces into place using clear epoxy; you have to hold each splash piece up until the epoxy sets up at the base.
Use more wave gel to blend splash pieces together and thicken anywhere necessary.

This was my very first try and so far so good.

I Still have to fill in a few spots around the splash and then fill the basin in around the splash with woodland scenics realistic water.
I have to make sure the bottom and all around the splash are water tight so the center of the splash does not fill in where hoof will be set.

You make it sound SO easy - but we know it's not!

That's cleverly done, and a great result. Even more so when you know it's your first time trying this!

Base is looking awesome overall too.

Thanks Trevor, Vlad, and Ian! I sincerely appreciate the feedback that you guys give me on my bashes.

Trying something else for the first time - using diorama terrain grass to add some realistic (hopefully) moss effects to the base.

Now that is looking really good! Super realistic, because you would not expect those stones to be bare. Way to brainstorm! :thumb2: :thumb2: :thumb2:

Yarp - pretty darn good. Maybe a little too much physical moss on the top level? Image
