That long?
Seems like it was such a short time ago.

John's enthusiasm and encouragement continues to shine. Truly a friend and mentor.

At the risk of offending some of you  ... John was my favorite member of the CH. :-D

He was always so friendly, helpful and interested in whatever you were doing. I had just started coming back to being a regular CH member after a 3-5 year hiatus of pretty much not modeling, when we lost him. RIP :cloud9:

No offense taken on my part.
John was amazing at connecting with people, and being helpful and knowledgeable.
His loss was a huge hit to the entire hobby, not just our corner of it.
His prolific building was an inspiration, and I am sure many producers benefited from all his kit purchases.
My jaw hit the floor when I saw the shear number of kits he had when they went up for sale. And most of them were not just finished, but customized.

It's scary sometimes how fast time passes and seems to go faster the older we get. But ole Unca John is greatly missed! Again I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times and we corresponded a lot with PM's. He knew my love of Jungle Gals and a couple weeks before he passed he alerted me of one that I had missed and I was able to score the last one. How cool is that?

We miss you bro.......

It's not an anniversary or anything, but I finally got the pages done for the kits I won from John's auctions.

I didn't realize how much ended up in the auction. An impressive collection.
I think I had two winning bids. One was for an unbuilt "Iron Dictator" - Doctor Doom on a throne (Here's a link to what It looks like - https://www.starshipmodeler.com/other/bm_drdoom.htm) and the other was the Needful Things Frankenstein I restored last year.

Wonderful tribute. I have never had the time to go through all those pictures of his builds, and just have spent 15 minutes doing so now. Wow. John was an absolutely incredible artist of the hobby. So many genres so many critters incredible paint-ups. 👀

I still miss his friendliness and helpfulness on this site. 😢

Thanks for the trip down memory lane! 👍

I spent some time reading the thread and what's sadder is seeing the comments of other members that have also passed or no longer hang here anymore... :(

Yup, had the same inpression.

And whatever happened to Nalissa2? That account has been deleted, though her/his posts remain on the threads?

Another former member who fell out with JT or just lost interest? 🤔

If I remember correctly, she had some family issues to attend to and couldn't devote time to the hobby anymore.
