Raaargh each time I start some jam/contest stuff, I get flooded with work. Actually the 6 legged thing still looks the same right now, but at least I managed to torture my first pumpin ever after dinner today. If I stopped 10 minutes earlier, it would look a bit better, but ehh whatever.

Marvelmouse is Marvelicious. Oh wait, I said I'd stop... But really, it is. It is so clean, I just love to see work like this and yours is very impressive. Patty
Thanks Patty! Were-bunny ended up at about 5 hours total. But, for me that was lightning fast! The clay was flying!

Thanks. I'm quite fond of Marvelmouse, too. That's the problem. I can't stop working on him now as I started making plans for him. Sort of negates the "jam" aspect. Heh.

I love the Lion. Such a great pose! Keep at it!

PATTY! Glad to have ya back, sista! 8)

Daniel, nice pumpkin!

Well, I made the epoxy core a liitle too big. You can see the white areas on the head in the left side of the pics, that's where the wax was getting really thin and I need to go in further so...

I made a quick mold and did an icky-poo three layer pour. You can clearly see where the cooling lines formed on the middle head.

The head on the right was a one-shot pour and it came out ok. I'll be working with this one now, since it's all wax Baybee! 8)

Patty - The lion looks great and I hope we get to see more of it. The anatomy already looks great.

Daniel - The pumpkin looks great.Looks just like something ray would have done.

Dennis - The cold lines on the wax almost makes it look like Bizarro Arnold. The photos are a little blurry but I would maybe widen or add to the forehead and his lips a little more grouchy. I didn't realize that Arnold's face doesn't have too many stand out features. I've been slightly busy doing faces for someone. But I will post pictures later in the week.

Two heads. I am not sure if I got the one on the left right. A difficult face to get for me.

Tim - forgot to answer your question, this should fit a 7 inch figure. So about 1/12 scale?

Way to go, Tim. I think it's great you were able to do so much during those quiet times. Here's hoping we get to see some pics soon.

Dennis - Unfortunately, you are a five years too far. I need to look at these heads again and see where they fail.

Please explain? 5 years + fail? I see no failure--don't make me break out the Cat-O-9's Tim mentioned earlier!

Are these the Dolph heads you were working on?

The way you are crankin' these bad boys out, it's hard to keep up! 8)

I'll be quiet now....

I'll give you a hint, Dennis and if you get them right you HAVE to give me pointers on how to get them right. The one on the left... Remember the business cards we made a while back? Think of your design but think "American".

The one of the right. Mad, Crazy, Suicidal, It's all the same for him.

I still have to do Van Damme and Chuck Norris but I'm going to slow down if I am not getting the likeness right.

Dudikoff! (SP?) and Riggs!

Whew! I'm too old for this sh--ut your mouth!

Dudikoff, I'm just going from memery, but widen the rear part of his jaw and unbulb the tip of his nose a tad.

Riggs, I'd really have to look at pics of Gibson from that era to be sure.

Now (with those hints in mind), I didn't even need to scroll back to look at the pics, I could tell in my mind's eye who they were from seeing the pics before.

Dude, I haven't seen an American Ninja movie in forevah!
I still have to do Van Damme and Chuck Norris but I'm going to slow down if I am not getting the likeness right.
Van Damme, you'll have to remember the lump on his forehead. Also, I want you to limber up before sculpting JCVD with full splits between 2 chairs.

Chuck Norris: You're going to have to go back to the pre Lone Wolf McQuade days for facial reference (also known in archeological terms as P.B. (pre beard). "Chuck filmed that movie in 1979 p.b."

Don't forget man, the eyes of the Ranger are upon you......... 8-[  :shocked2:

I think I need to clarify myself here so as not to be breaking any jam rules. For faces and their relative scale I am proud of the faces. However if I don't get the likeness down, I have to be honest and critically examine why they are not working. It is a tickle in the back of my head, telling me not yet.

As a result, I looked at more pictures and noticed that the upper lip area of the left guy should have more height and so i shaved a little on the bottom of the nose, narrowed the bridge and the nostrils. Happily, I don't think I need to re-do the nose yet. I also, widened and slight put up his forehead and hairline.
As for mad mullet guy on the right. I only shortened the crease between cheek and lip area and add and slightly refined the mullet hair. At this point, both hairs are temporary until I show it my guy.

That's who the clients wants. He wants Dudikoff, specifically from American Ninja 1 and Gibson from Lethal Weapon 1.

I did that nose change you mentioned. I think that big nose was throwing it off, also lessened the angle of it, too. Dudikoff has a really sharp and angled jawline. I have looked at scenes from his movies, I think when he clenches his jaw, then it really accentuates itself but normally, it seems to go one straight line from the ear to the chin. let me play around a bit.

Dennis - you are a fountain of information. That Norris trivia was exactly what I have been looking for. I have been trying to find his movies b4 he had the beard on. So the title is Lone Wolf McQuade? i will google that now.

Have you gone through your pop sculpture yet? Man, I wish i had this book 10 years ago.

I remember Chuck grew the beard for LWMcQ, had the 'stache before that and facial hair free in the early days. Did you know Chuck had his own line of karate jeans? They had a reinforced crotch area that was supposed to keep from ripping out during high kicks. Man I wish the 80's would come around again.

Dudikoff looks a lot different now, but you sure have nailed his young look with those changes! I forgot how lean his chin and jawline were.

Pop Sculpture: I flipped through it page by page last night, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. Unfortunately, I flipped through it backwards, going from the appendix to the index, so now I'm pretty sure I know how to make an action figure into a lump of clay or wax!

Wow! Junior. You are getting better and better at heads. I recognized the Mad guy right off. I haven't seen American Ninja in a long while.

Shamefully, I have nothing new to show. I've been hung up mold-making for another project. I sometimes wish there were two of me to get everything I want t do done. If I miss my chance to get anything else done before this extension ends, I'll try to throw in on the next one!

Hehe thanks. Suprisingly I like where this is going, though I still dont have a clue where that is. The Godzilla stuff in the background is just some texture reference for an older project, no Zilla from me 8)
