D'oh! #-o  Not him either, but now that you mention it, I do kind of see him when I look at it every-so-often. Must. Increase. Likeness. Accuracy. :-k
I'm not trying to rain on your parade here. I think both of those men have similar features. I think the mouth is so well defined that I keep being drawn to it and that is what originally made me think it was Mark Valley. I have another guess (again based on the mouth area) but I'll hold my tongue until you've done a little more with it. It really looks like an excellent head regardless of likeness honestly. I wish my heads look anything like that.

Does anyone hate bear ears?

Agreed! I think this guy sort of falls into their facial catagory. Hopefully I've tweaked it enough now that it'll be recognizable. I did a quick hair test and it really helped a lot. Now I just have to figure out which hairstyle to go with. :D

Dennis: You're right guessing Mr Bean. I have a very rough rowan atkinson likeness going on which i'll post pics of tomorrow. If i was to guess who your sculpt is just off of the bald head, i'd go for something like a young Cilnt Eastwood from his Rawhide days, though i imagine i'm way off the mark - I don't really watch much in the way of tv to be fair, i've really only got time for sculpting and videogames.

Ok Dennis I have to try.

My first guess before the clue was Peter Weller.
Then I thought Richard Anderson (Oscar Goldman).
Watching Repo the Genetic Opera last night I thought maybe it could be Anthony Head.
Now put all three of those faces together and realize I may need glasses.

Actually, I thought Steve had the name there, but it was missing a middle name.

I can see that. So did you go with the Mullet or the Military cut?

Ha! :D

I couldn't decide, so I baked him bald. I'm going to try to make to sets of hair so I can swap 'em out.

Although I think this turned out looking like the older version, so if I pick one, it'll probably be the buzz cut.

Richard Dean Anderson!
A perfect idea for a TV jam.

I decided to sit this jam out despite my new years resolution to do more jams.
My ideas were
Bill Cosby, Mike Brady, or Gilligan

Hair test.

I see the likeness, then I don't so much, then I do.

Aww! you did the reveal already before I can get another guess in. I think you've done a great job, Dennis. Having that off and on feeling on the likeness is something I've gone through myself. Maybe make the bridge of the nose between the eyes just a slight broader, also a little more depth in the corner of the eyes. Now that we have the name and the hair it's easy to see Anderson there.

Great Job, Dennis.

RDA is a tough nut to crack. When he's stoic there's not much in the way of facial features showing. If he starts to talk, frown or smile those long verticle dimples start to show and an all out smile makes the upper portion of his cheeks flatten out. I had to watch some STARG^TE: SG1 to see how his face works.

Plus, I can't find any good pictures of his "O'neill buzz cut". It all just looks like a fuzzy screen caps of a cotton ball sitting on top of his noggin.

I think your chin is a little too wide. In the front view it looks pretty dead on, but the sides it looks like it is jutting forward a little and I think that it is just because the chin is wider than in real life. The hair is a little odd. I would think you could put his cap on his head and it would work well.

Take a look at this photo on the chin:

And I have a glass jaw, but does that have to do with the sculpt--oooohhh

I busted out the carving tools and shaved the chin down and hit the area with a scouring pad to smooth things out. With the dark green Super Sculpey underneath showing through the gray primer, it looks like he has a goatee now.

Yeah, for sure! It's just laying on there as a placeholder so I could test out the hair texture. Still a WIP, that one.

I did that as a quick test, too. I'm pretty sure I can find an episode of MacGyver that has him wearing a logger's cap with the ear flaps down so I can hide those too.

I just tweaked the eye area a bit before hitting the submit button.

Now I have to get that "hair" off so I can reprimer the face to see how it looks.

I really thought that hair would pop off, but dangnabbit if it ain't stuck to his head like a sonovagun! If I'd wanted it to do that, it would have fallen off with a slight gust of wind.

Did you apply baby powder in between layers?

You watched a few episodes of SG1? or a few seasons? Love that show and I can watch it anytime.

You're right about his facial features changing from expression to expression. Your sculpt reminds me of when his mind was taken over by the Ancients. He had a blank expression most of the time and with somewhat graying hair.
