Jnr is working!!! well done man! 8) you have studied hard and slung clay like a Pro; ya deserve clients imo so well done. =D>

Kihl- looking like a real Chaos Spawn now! like the ideas around the face and the eye stalks in to organics; look like weird breather tubes  . a very creepy and chaos monster. =D>

... well as promised despite mojo failure for 2 weeks i have a finished face so i can relax and work the rest now. fully intend to finish this.

turned out kinda nice, like her alot, wax is lovely to use , managed the fatty tissue above the upper eyelid reasonably well and on the whole i reckon the Prettiest Femme face i have done so far. the high arch of the brows hopefully will give an air of Arrogance and Disdain to the whole piece. in the morning i am working the body ,armor and she's losing the place holder hair. hope by monday to have something eye catching.
fell asleep yesterday morning.......as ya might expect, despite my hopes to the contrary!!

Adam - Don't sweat it, dude. Those two submissions were great.

Dennis - I kept looking at the angle of his face, chin and jawline area with different views because I just couldn't grasp what i was seeing and having grainy still shots didn't help too much.

Daniel - that is coming along great. Unique in its design and the texture is adding to the animosity of the piece.

Tim - That face is perfect. It has an Elven quality to it, that should be perfect for your piece. and you said you were in a funk! no way!

Pop Sculpture: I flipped through it page by page last night, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. Unfortunately, I flipped through it backwards, going from the appendix to the index, so now I'm pretty sure I know how to make an action figure into a lump of clay or wax!

I feel like buying a highlighter and highlighting certain statements because the idea they carry is so simple but so accurately helpful.

thanks guys! :D

any crits?
i notice that the photography makes her eyelids look thick :? but in the round they are less than a millimeter!??
wonder why photos are doing that? they say the camera dont lie so do i need to work the face some more?
she has her elf ears but the are human sized and made small for femininity. would you guys opt for the bigger ones or would a bit-o-reality be best? opinions??

would you want more views of the profile ect with hair off?

nice to feel motivated again. i know i have some WIPs to finish so am hoping to do that. yesterday afternoon i was waxing up my transfer of that ole Elektra En Pointe i did back in Sculpey and transferred. i am using 360. she needs a new face. the old one is awful!!  did some others which i'll shoot in daylight.

here is a view of Ole Frank from the head jam. recarved and balanced. i noticed i usually have a Leftside imbalance and had the eye a tad high and not well defined. let me know what ya think. like him but am happy to do more to improve the piece.

atb y'all ! :D -- tim

**** edit; hmmm, again not looking too good in a photo! think i'll shoot him again in daylight **

Tim, if you want to post extra pics, that's cool. From what I can see though, I stand by my first comments.

Franks looking proportional, but the pic is kind of "flat". Get him some contrast, STAT!

I'm going to be away from the computer until later today and I don't have any progress to show on mine yet.

Jr, can you take the reins of the next Jam pony? [-o<

Depends. I had to get a lovely 50mm/1.8 lens to stop the lying :D

Tim - I actually like the thick eyelids. it gives her a smoky, vampy look. How about a side view? As for Frank, If you have photoshop, just flick the picture opposite and i think it might show that the right eye is slightly higher and same with the right nostril.

Dennis - i got your back....
And it's quite hairy.

New jam tonight.

Hi Guys!

I just finished up Marvelmouse! I just couldn't leave this guy alone. Kind of became a pet project.

This is actually a casting of the original sculpt that I have assembled and painted. I decided to make a few copies to build for friends and family.

The nameplate is resin, with a printed sticker/decal applied, then varnished over.

Image

I posted more pics over in a separate thread here.

And for Clubhouse Members, Only, interested in getting a copy of this sculpt, check it out in the "New Kits" section. Very limited castings... don't want to waste the molds.

This was Fun! I hope to participate in more jams in the future as my schedule allows.

Thanks Junior!

It's the same base as before. I just "skinned" over it with more Apoxie until I got the shapes a lot smoother. Less "peeble rooad" and more cloud-like. What you cannot see in the photo, is that I misted the base with a glue adhesive and lightly sprinkled that "Christmas snow" white glitter on it, then sealed over it. It has a little sparkle in the light. Just didn't come out in the photo. But, gives it that glimmering cloud look that store-bought trinkets have.

I'm happy with the final result!
