Re: Westworld - the series

wild guess dept....

I'm thinking the kid traveling with Dolores is a past story... and he's actually
Ed Harris, which is the present day story. (that make sense?!)

The bandit leader on the train w/ them is the same guy who Ed is toting around
(w/ the noose around his neck). Think Ed came back and the past story will
tell us that whatever he's trying to find w/ Dolores doesn't happen and he's gonna
make sure he succeeds now.

(...or not) :)

Can't remember which episode it was, I think in one of the last three but in an old part of Delos in the background was something that looked like Yul in the original Westworld.
Pretty vague, sorry.

Because unless they are with one of the guests, their day resets every day.
For the 'hosts' their lives are an endless loop. Each day starts just like every day, only changing if one of the guests gets involved.

You aren't supposed to be able to tell the difference between the robots and humans just by looking. But you figure out pretty quick who is who.
One dead give away, anyone who gets shot is a robot. For some reason guns don't kill real people, only robots. It seems to hurt them a little bit (kind of like a paintball) but does no actual damage. They still haven't explained that yet.

Yes, William is the young Man in Black, and the timeline with William and Logan is thirty years in the past.

Rumors are swirling that the Bernard character is a replica of Arnold, who, I believe, we will discover at the center of the maze.

Yeah, saw ol' Yul when he stepped out of the elevator and told my
sons to watch for an easter egg when they watched that ep later on.
(they both missed it) (sheesh!) (failed in their upbringing!!)

Marc... really? re:Wm?? is this definite? or guessing too?

I figured Bernard was a robot... in fact, I thought everyone but Ford might be. :)
but then that last ep proved that thought wrong!

that's your cable...until my wiring got TOTALLY replaced (11/12/16), mine would pixillate like crazy...sometimes for several minutes at a time...which ALWAYS happened at a crucial time in the program :cussing:

I wonder if they'll change if they'll change the name to Samauri World for season 2, given all the Easter eggs in the finale? (Including the SW logo.)

That's be an interesting twist. Each season with all new characters and all sorts of new problems.
As of the last episode, I really feel like getting a snake tattoo now. She was so awesome!

The scene of Dolores first coming online showed a less sophisticated internals than the opening sequences and other scenes suggest for the more recent Host builds. She was at first more of an all metal and circuitry robot with only exterior cosmetics. She is the oldest host in the park but how much of her original body remains if any is uncertain.
When gutted in the William storyline only mechanical insides were revealed, unlike the wounds we've seen other host suffer. The more recent host bodies appear to be synthetic flesh and bone , when ripped apart the remains look more like that of an organic being.

I have a feeling that the old model host bodies with the sturdy alloy framework could be the most dangerous in a battle between different generations of hosts. Dolores original body was barely slowed down by the massive knife wound and unlike other hosts she didn't bleed out.

OK I stayed away from this thread because I gave up after episode 3. Then I decided to try it again and my local cable company did not have episode 4 so I waited for another week and kept hearing about the ending so this past weekend I started with episode 5 and worked my way through to the finale last night. Loved the twist with Bernard and the cool twist with Ed Harris and William. As for the rest of the show I am a little underwhelmed or maybe lost. Who activated the hosts that were in the basement? Was that part of Ford's new narrative or did Dolores do it or even Maeve? Way too many things going on for my simple mind to follow, I need a timeline chart and story location to figure it out.
I did pick up the soundtrack on Itunes.

The snake tattoo girl was down there just before they (basement hosts)
were gone...so I was thinking it was the army Maeve was talking about.

but it could have been Ford... or Ford behind it all directing each host
to do different things?
