I take it that this was all done in your new play area? Nice work.

Yeah. All done in my cozy little dungeon :)

I really need to wrap this project up. I am so close, I just need to finish up a couple little things.

Well, almost 3 months later, and I still haven't wrapped this project up yet

The kits themselves are done, just have to attach the cane, and one more bat.
But I have turned my attention to display possibilities. Which really took off once I got a nameplate for the kits. (see this thread viewtopic.php?f=4&t=124181 )

So, I found a plaque to use off of Amazon, and today I set about doing the layout for everything.

Figured out where I wanted everything, then got to work doing some actual measuring, cutting, drilling. Heated the nameplate to get it down as flat as possible on the wood block I am going to use to hold the extra heads. And this is what I came up with.

Here is how I made the area to hold the heads

The old, glow heads just sit on the kits as a friction fit. So, I needed big holes to hold those. But the resin heads flopped around because of their weight. So to counteract that, I left a length of the wooden skewer I used to hold them while painting. That stabilizes the head when they are on the kits. The skewer keeps them from flopping. So I had to drill long thin holes to hold those. Then I trimmed them off so they don't stick out through the plaque.

Next I need to putty and sand the joint between the resin nameplate, and the wooden block. The 2-part epoxy filled a lot of it, but there are still some gaps.
The plan right now is to paint the routed edge of the plaque, and the namplate/head holder black, and clear-coat the wood. I think that will look nice.
I also need to grind out an indent for the kit bases to sit in, on the plaque.

That's looking really cool. Adding the wooden base & the nameplate has really given this a boost.

I hope the owner feels the same way. This is a bit of a surprise for him. He doesn't know I am doing this.
Heck, I don't think he even knows I did the glow heads for him too.

This is just a little extra to help justify the extended timeline this project has taken.
And also a good excuse for holding on to the kits until after WF, so I can stick them in the contest :D

I can finally call this a wrap!

Delivered the models to my friend earlier this week. Almost 3 years to the day from when he gave me the box of models while I was visiting his Halloween display back in 2019.
Finished up the pictures earlier this week as well and put together a page on my site.
And posted a thread in the styrene section.
