A bit of work on her, but she doesn't look it.

I'm almost at the point to start painting.

She will be in a red uniform, probably from the Enterprise.

The skin will be a flat light blue/white mix with purple highlights. I'm guessing it will be challenging to
get right. Maybe a light blue base and a flat white wash?

I'm making this up as I go....

Thanks!

I ordered a few TOS burke chairs from Shapeways.

Image

The far right is listed as 1/12 scale and way too big. The other 2 are listed as 1/18.
I think the Middle one is closest.

I'm not going to do a real diorama with her, I just want something to pose her with.

I'd think the far right one is perfect size to that figure.

It actually fits the DST figures, Too big for my Andorian.

From this screen cap "The Balance of Terror" shows the back of the chair comes up to Uhura's waist.

Image

Granted she is about 10 inches in front of the chair. The chair is just to set a a scene.

I got some red paint on her today.

Sorry,

Things keep getting in the way of this.

Hopefully I can get back to it soon.

I need to start thinking about the antenna.

a little progress.

I've had much trouble getting her stockings to look right. I've tried many things with no luck.

I've settled on a series of light washes, acrylic, oil, enamel. It acceptable but no more than that. Maybe when I flat seal her it sill help the look.

I've also started to touch up her dress, it's kind of sloppy now but will get better.

Her boots were also painted satin black.

I'm also starting to think about her antenna.

Sorry for the long wait for an update.

Thanks!

But...
I'm giving up on the paint. I've got too many different types down and nothing is going well.

I think it's time for the strip tease.....

Image

She is soaking in turpentine, I'll check in in about 24 hours and see whats happening.

She is all stripped.

I rinsed her off and I'll let her outgas for the next 4 or 5 days.

Looks like i might need to do a little fine sanding, then re prime and start again.

A long overdue update. I'm still working on her, between other projects.

I had to do another partial striping on her. I've tried many things to get the skin

correct for a TOS Andorian with no luck, I've gone with the later series pure blue

color.

Her antenna are my second attempt, They are thin wire.

I've just started working on her face. I went with white eyebrows to match her hair.
