Wow!
Those did end up pretty thick. But I think your adjustments to the other parts evens things out quite well.

Thanks Trevor.
Some of the camera angles makes them look a lot thicker than they really are.
I am trying to make this guy look very “gnarly” .

Hey Joe! (wasn't that a song? - for "experienced" players only :) )

I didn't post yesterday as I wasn't too keen on the "fattening/detailing" on the tentacles and didn't want to sound negative. But now you've tweaked other stuff - it looks great!

Keep up the great work, and pics (please).

Can't wait til you start slinging paint on it to start getting contrast between the different parts of the creature.

Hey Ian, thanks - but please never hesitate to tell me if you think something doesn’t look good!
I need your honest feedback and I can handle constructive criticism 😀

Thanks Vlad - I am also anxious to start the painting phase. Just a bit more detailing to finish first.

To keep on my wonderfest contest entry plan and schedule, I need to have this bash finished by next WED. That will be tough to do though.

Working on enhancing the tail nodules to make the tail skin texture consistent with the tentacles skin.
I made all the tail segments a little thicker as well .
Still need to sharpen up the tail spikes and do some blending and detailing around each spike.

The pics from the back view make the tentacles look way larger than what they really are.
The scale is actually pretty good .

I hope to start painting phase this weekend and still shooting to have this guy painted by next WED.

I have found 2 3d printed bases, which the producers where willing to make much larger custom size versions for me, and I plan to combine them make the base.
I have received one base, but still waiting for the second one. May not get it until mid FEB.

Anyway ... its looking better and better - the "flow" of the heads surrounding the body is perfect - can't wait to see where the left arm goes ...

Oh, and yes, the bases too ... :drool2:

The original hydra head horns were tucked in close to the sides of the head and hard to see from front and side views

So I cut those horns off and sculpted a bit bigger and wider horns to give a little more visual interest

I still need to clean up and sharpen the horns

First two pics shows only the far head on the right with changed horns, and the rest of the heads as they were for comparison

Changed all horns

Definitely better because - your attention to detailing - has now made the Hydra heads "your own", rather than just looking like 'Harryhausen heads" grafted onto Cthulu ... :thumb2:

I replaced the rattlesnake end of the tail with the stinger from a 3d printed scorpion

Thanks Ian!

I am trying hard to make this tail as different as possible from the tails on my previous two bashes using the geometric Medusa kit.

Next step: I have some changes planned for the hands and arms…

Started adding 2 more rows of spikes along the outer and inner sides on the tail.
Lots of work left to on adding and sharpening these new spikes.

Since original medusa had a bow, I decided to give this guy a weapon too.
I modified the arms and hands positions to hold a spear blade. I still have to modify the hands to grip it.
