Sounds cool. I'm sure everyone is for it, but will anyone have the time or $$$ to attend this if Wonderfest is only a couple months before? Seems like people save up for WF and that's it for the year's spending.

Well, it really depends on your expectations... If all you want is a shopping spree, then the "save & spend" mentality takes precedence,(believe me, that's how I used to be!!!) BUT, if you just wanna go and hang out for a weekend with like-minded folks, make new friends, cut loose, check out new territory, then going to a show can't be beat!

As Steve Riojas says in another post, it's the people/ friendships that are the true treasures... Hell, any show will be a good party if nothing else... If that ain't good enough, I really don't know what would be...

For me and my family, WF (and whatever other model shows in driving distance...) ARE OUR VACATIONS... Why? Because of the people we only get to see then...

The question is this.. Do you enjoy spending time here on the Clubhouse? If so, then you will LOVE any show!!! A show is kinda like being here, but in "real time"...

Sorry Paul, not just directing this at you, but other folks who have the same questions as well...

Bubba, i agree, going to these shows is like a family get together. you don't have to load up on kits all the time. maybe break up the spending between WF and the KB show if that's what one is looking for but getting together and talking shop, looking at the contest built ups, going to the seminars ect ect.... thats what its about for me too. i hope many of you can make it, the more the merrier!!!! :jam:

Honestly, I can't believe anyone who truly loves this hobby would have absolutely anything negative to say in regards to a second major model show. Everyone knows times are tough financially for many people & choices have to be made regarding attending two shows. If you really love this hobby, embrace the proposition of another show & be thankful someone is going through all the work to make it happen!

One benefit right off the top is a second chance to get the stuff that sold so fast you missed it. I missed all 3 of the kits that I wanted to get and this gives dealers a chance to cast up the heavy hitters to sell at the show.
As for the model contest, 4 months should be plenty of time to build something new. I'm up to 10 - 12 every 3 months. Compared to some that's nothing, but for me it's a killer.
Anyway you cut it, lots to see and lots to do and then hang out , drink some brewskis and talk models! 8)

i myself will not be able to attend that one but i think the shows the bigger number of kits get produced and better qualiity it seem everone gears up for one show then poof the scene goes somewhat silent
i think the big shows and some little shows in between is what this hobby needs at least thats my take

I think it's a great idea! The historical miniature figure shows have several successful shows throughout the year so I can see this thing really doing well. Count me in! :thumb2:

I think this can only be good for the hobby, with WF being in the summer most of the BRITs i've spoken to wont be going because of the higher cost of the summer peak flights.($400 extra).

In respect of the producers getting new stuff available for a late show then you only have to see how much is added to Bucs website in the last quarter of the year to realise that this is not an issue.

I'm looking forward to St. Louis. Well done to Dan and Barb.

Getting the guest list put together. We have a venue, we have a band, we have a theme and now we are getting the guests wrangled up.
Flyers will go out soon!
