Have I missed this? Will the hounds been held straining at leashes or chains held by the beastmaster? Its hands seem to be in the right position for such leashes or chains.

Yes. Exactly. The hounds will be straining on chain leashes held by the demon predator

Created peg system for predator demon to stand unsupported on the base
Wings are not attached yet
Changed the angle of the front legs of one of the Terror dogs to be lower and more of a hanging position
I think (hope) it will look pretty cool after I add the chains so it appears hounds are straining against and being held up by chain leashes

Great work so far, my only quibble would be the wings. Maybe batlike or dragon wings would be a better fit than bird wings imvho.

Thanks guys!

Thank you for the wing suggestion Loborex!

I do have some other 3d printed wings that are more evil and Demon like.
I will post some pics here of those wings propped up behind him and see what everybody thinks

Loborex has a point. These look too much like angel wings....

How about these style wings instead ?
(These wings still require a lot of clean up and slimming down of the wing fingers)
Or maybe no wings ?
Thoughts ? Thanks !

I think either set will work just fine.
I see nothing wrong with the bird wings. A lot will depend on the paint scheme for both the figure and the wings.

I think these wings look much better.

One problem I have with both sets of wings is that the tip is touching the ground in this static position.

Have you thought about angling the wings in a half flying mode so that they're halfway above the ground, perhaps giving the idea that he's using the wings flapping to push back and be able to hold off the demon dogs from getting loose?

As a bonus, it would add some dynamism to balance out the pulling demon dogs.

A demon with angelic wings is a powerful visual and symbolic contradiction. It deliberately disrupts audience expectations, inviting questions: Was this being once holy? Is it mocking the divine? Is it a fallen angel, a deceiver, a hybrid?

I think this is only because Joe is propping them up to demonstrate. The wings look to me as though they would be more vertical in orientation. These wings are very dramatic and I feel they risk overwhelming the figure. The number of spikes in particular seems excessive.

Demons typically have bat-like wings that represent their hellish, subterranean, or infernal origin. The wings are usually leathery and grotesque, aligning them with decay, reptilian or nocturnal symbolism (as opposed to the light of angelic feathers). When feathers are fused with a demon, the design becomes unnerving - it communicates ambiguity (like Clive Barker’s Cenobites), inner conflict, juxtaposition/dissonance, or perhaps just a lot of visual interest.

These wings are essentially batlike, meaning wing membrane stretched between fingers of the forelimb. However, this creature already has forelimbs. Same applies to bird wings. So these are additional limbs. Most vertebrates have four limbs, so demons with two arms, two legs, and two wings violate standard tetrapod anatomy - unless you posit a separate evolutionary path or magical origin. The size of Demon Predator's wings would suggest they are intended as functional rather than vestigial (gargoyles) or symbolic ('Night of the Demon's demon) in some way. Apart from flight, such wings can also be to intimidate or to envelope prey like Dracula's cape. They may also supplement the supernatural in flight - magical lightness or that of flight as levitation. Perhaps its native environment has a lower gravity as was the case of the Satan-like Overloads of 'Childhood's End.' Anchoring anatomy for aerodynamic wings would suggest massive musculature across the chest and back, hollow bones and reduced internal organs. Yautja Prime is the home planet of the Yautja (Predators) and is thought to have heavier gravity than earth, hence their immense strength when here. Perhaps the Demon Predator is a genetically modified Yautja created to operate in lower gravity environment like Earth.

I have a failure of imagination, it seems ... translation: I can't compete with your dissertation ... 😭

I don't think that deeply about creating a 'backstory' .. I'm more of a mere "pattern recognition" machine ...

No problem. I'd hardly call it a failure of imagination Vlad. Imaginary animal zoology is an interest. Sometimes though we all need reminding that not everyone shares our interests. 8)

Actually, your imaginative take on this (and other) beasties is one of the reasons the CH is so GREAT!!! :D

I would have never thought the creature "that far", but now that I've seen it ... its sort of mind-opening - as a way to look at some of the fantasy critters we 'bash/build.

This.
I love the back-and-forth.
It opens up so many thing I never even thought about.
I'm just here to see what crazy stuff Joe is gonna pull out of his hat next.
The banter gives me something to think about while I wait for the next update on the kit.
