Well not if you make a mold of it and then paint the hollow resin cast ,that way you only have to sculpt one and then paint the resin castings to look like carved pumpkins.!!

The best part of pumpkin and sand carving is the temporary aspect of it.

Have you ever ate at an awesome place that you only went to once in awhile. The food always seems to taste so good and is a rare treat. Eat there every night and I'm sure it will not have the same appeal. Make something temporary that you can never hold or look at ever again except through a photo and I bet the memory of the experience will remain somewhat magicical to you...trust me.

Can't believe it is almost pumpkin time again. I'll be sure to post some as soon as I get carving some, plus I'll post some more sand stuff and regular sculpts soon.

Oh i agree completly Ray i was just poking fun at our own industry, you know us resin heads we will cast everything ,Your carving is what original creativity is all about ,those one of a kind originals that you cant get at the store ya know! Many folks dont realize how different carving is than sculpting, as in clay you can add on and subtract but carving too far in and  ,you have to see ahead of where your going with the piece much more than in sculpting. I have been sculpting for over 14years and i still haven't the nerve to try carving so hats off to an amazing talent sir.
take care-Shane.

So looking forward to the Food Network's Pumpkin Challenge this year! I know; it's last year's win, but none of us has seen it yet. You and Pinkerton, imagine!
By the way, for folks wanting a knife like the one Ray uses. . .I saw a near identical knife at both Walmart and Target, made by Paula Deen.
