Bulk silly putty

My understanding is that the. "Real" Silly Putty" is made by Crayola...I've tried. "No-name" silly putty and haven't had very good luck...I'd recomend stocking with the real stuff.

Does the brand name stuff have something in it besides coloring that makes it different? I believe its chemically the same product essentially. The reason I say this is that I have used cheap putty before and I can't tell any difference. It masks just the same.

ive used the stuff from dollar general (comes in eggs, just like the real deal) and it sems to work the same, although it may be a bit "looser" than the brand name.

btw, binney and smith, the crayola company, also makes liquitex acrylic paints, so they certainly produce quality stuff all around. it wouldn't surprise me at all to discover that their putty is better.

You can buy "real" Silly Putty in bulk for $80 for 5 lbs.; that's $16 a pound compared to $24 a pound for "Crazy Aaron's"...I advertised for placed a group order about 2 months ago and ended up getting enough interest that we bought 15 lbs.
