This is the link to a fundraiser for Ray. Any help is something I will not forget. Thanks. He has been doing pretty bad, but he's hanging on. Sorry about the lack of updates. I will try and stay more on top of it. -Tom

Great idea, it offers a way for us to actually do something in addition to feeling horribly for him. I have never met Ray but I just re-read this entire thread and hope he knows that he is not alone and that many of us are thinking of him regularly.TomOtattoos wrote:http://www.gofundme.com/5wml3g.

There is an update on FB and on the fund raising site. Sadly it isn't positive.

I meant the fundraising site, which I had mistakenly thought goes through FB. I'm not aware of any other. sorry for any confusion.Nalissa2 wrote:What's the FB site?TeddyNovak wrote:There is an update on FB and on the fund raising site. Sadly it isn't positive.

Re: temporary leave of absense
Okay sorry for the delay guys. I'm not sure where to start....Well first off thank you SO much for all of your donations. Don't worry about the site. I heard there was a glitch for a while but I think it's back in business. I didn't set it up. That was Thea Gruber. She knew Ray 20 years ago, when he was running American Mask. I met Ray just after that, but I never knew Thea. She contacted me on F.B. after failing to get a hold of him. The money goes to me. She sends me the checks, and I have been using it to pay for his rent/food/bills/etc. Before Thea and all your donations came along I didn't know what was going to happen. On many levels I still don't. But knowing we can, at the very least, keep him in a warm home, and fed is relieving. I do also get to see your messages from the fund site. I'm not going to name people because I don't want to make other members feel inferior for not donating, but you know who you are.
I am going to be very frank now about his situation. It's bad, and getting worse. He is still relatively young and has a strong heart. But he is loosing this battle. What else is there without treatment? It has (at least in my opinion) spread to his mind. I know this is hard news to hear. It's even worse to witness. It's a constant source of stress because he does live alone. Hospice has been part of his care. They come by for around an hour once a day Mon-Fri. This has helped a lot. But no matter how much anyone does it isn't enough. I am so frustrated that his social worker can't get him in to a care facility. He has been denied up and down for any State aid. I could spend 5 hours a day with him, and still you have to worry for the other 19. But the type of care he needs exceeds what we have in the money dept. But now with the donations options have become available. So, I'm going to keep this party rollin'. I only wish Ray would convey all of this to you himself, but he just can't. If he could, you know he would. He LOVED the C.H. At W.F. he would only wear his name badge in the hopes of running into other C.H. members. He brought me into the hobby, and now I have the Clubhouse too.
Thanks-Tom
p.s. Today is Ray's 54th birthday. I was going to start a new thread but that would be more for me than him. I just need to say it. Happy birthday Mr. Halloween Man -(pic. circa 2012)

You have your hands full there, and we all understand.
We are here not only to support Ray, but you as well.
You have definitely gone the extra mile to help a friend.
