Obtaining old Japanese Godzilla kits is not the easiest thing these days, but thanks to eBay
they show up every now and then, when a collector decides to sell off some of the sacred
stash.
I happened to know this collector, I used to build for him, he's on our CH...ToyVet....great guy too.....(and a Veterinarian) . Kaiyodo's 1985 Godzilla vs Ghidrah sculpted by Eito Hara is not the same quality we get from producers of Godzilla models today. It is the EARLY days of Garage kits, "when pickins were very slim, Hoss!"
You know that funky old tan resin of old kits... slightly waxy, pin holes, kinda brittle. ..but I LOVE this old stuff..(like ripping the shrink wrap and opening an old Aurora kit)...!
This kit has the tan and pink resin . Also, it is kinda small, 1/350 scale....Godzilla is about 6" tall.....but Ghidrah kits can get really big with the wings, so I am okay with scale.
I have done a few Hara kits and his sculpting likeness of Kaiju is very good....kinda like the Billiken kits.
These early garage kits are fragile too, lots of little, I mean little fragile, ....teeth, claws and wing tips that break in the box over time, just from being moved around and shipped half way around the world!

The model was just shipped to me, it is in transit, and I thought I would create a thread
to show the progress as it gets built.
