I just finished a new 30 cm resin Rodan 56 diorama, so I will show you some photos of it. Got a 54 and 56 truck in it. :)

I made the base so it fits close up against the wall, since it is pretty wide and I am low on shelf space.

Thanks for looking! :)

Looks great!

Makes me wanna dig out mine and get it done.

Any thin spots on the wings?

Jon,

I have to ask where to you put them all? You must be getting close to adding a wing to your house by now.

Yes, but not too bad on mine. I added some thinned out modeling paste to them to be safe...

WOW!!! caught me off guard with this masterpiece. Best Rodan buildup I have ever seen and it is all the small little details that makes it so much fun.

That is terrific, dude. The vehicles and people really set it off and give it some scale.

Is Krabbits really the name of the co.?

I am not sure I got the name spelled right, but I believe it is something like that.

Another amazing diorama!

I built a vinyl '56 Rodan a couple years ago. When I was doing my research, I saw stills from the movie that showed him to be much redder than how he appeared in the film. So much of his color was washed out with the film they used back in those days. I think that I went too red with mine, but yours looks a little too brown.

I see, is that a Tsukada kit?
Yes, I have seen photos of it looking redder as well, I have a bit of red in mine but depending on the lighting it shows less red sometimes. I wanted to paint it with a slight fleshy pink in the wing membranes; I do not always try to mimic the colors in the movies, I take some artistic license sometimes on these things, especially Godzilla, where I often try to paint him based more on his surroundings than actual color he would look in daylight...

Now that I can understand. Most of the Kaiju kits I've done, I've tried to make them look like the original suit. As if you were looking at it in person.

Yes, that's the Tsukada vinyl kit. It's one of the 1st kits I built, before I bought a airbrush. I painted it like a big minifig. Took forever.

I take a long time to paint too, even though I use an airbrush now, I still paint over that with traditional brushes in both acrylics and oils. Most of my kits never were touched by airbrush.
