Health

I thought talk this since it's a important topic..
This hobby we sit alot of the time..
Which is not good.. While this hobby is fun
I don't sit with it too much 2hrs off and on
I get up and walk a around and go for walks
in 2014 I started to cut the sugar the evils of soda
I drank for so long and most candy ..
And no more tv dinners so many calories... not good.
I have lost alot weight I feel better not at ideal weight for my height.
But my legs and knees don't bother me anymore..
I can run again and walk like use too..
Eating right and drinking lots of water.. because I don't
suffer a heart attack or something worse..
I like me again.
Nostalgia can be a bad thing, especially when you are led by it.

In October of 2015, I was diagnosed as "mildly" diabetic. I had quit smoking three months earlier and had put on some more weight, tipping the scales at a total of 280 pounds. When I received the news about my diabetes, I went on a diet immediately, cutting out sugar, white potatoes, white bread, white pasta, and white rice, while eating foods high in protein, fiber, and whole grains. For exercise, I would take my dog for long walks in the large field behind our house. I slowly started to see results in my weight. On average, I lost about ten pounds a month for nearly ten months. By September of this year, I had lost a total of 96 pounds, I had terrific numbers for my cholesterol, and I had reversed my diabetes. Today, I feel pretty good, but it's now a lifestyle change that I must maintain. I keep a close watch on what I eat, but I allow myself an occasional diet cheat every now and then to keep things interesting. The day after Thanksgiving, my wife and I joined the local aquatic & recreation facility so we can help ourselves stay in shape.

Hopefully, all of what I've gone through and continue to do will help me to live a long and healthy life!

Dental health is even more important as we get older. I had an abscessed tooth a couple of years ago that got so bad so quickly that my dentist said it could easily have killed me if I'd waited even a single day longer before having it dealt with. After having two more teeth that looked perfectly fine go the same way I chose to have my remaining teeth pulled to avoid further risks.
Since then according to people I see everyday I've begun to look far younger than my actual age, and I've felt good enough to do some serious work on clearing up my property, chopping down six good sized trees including a double trunked monster of around 75 feet and cutting these up and disposing of the debris on my own. I later hired professionals to cut down two very large trees that were posing a danger to my neighbor's property. Glad I did.
Anyway after getting rid of an ongoing source of toxins from my dental problems I'm much healthier and stronger. Even better looking if my female friends are being honest. Sadly the smoking hot older women from my teenage years are now great great grandmas and use walkers.

Seriously I'm mystified as to why my hair is growing in thicker and darker. I've never used Grecian formula but I'm getting a similar effect. At this point my hair is a dark iron grey like newly cast iron.
A clear complexion and no wrinkles runs in the family, Mom had skin like a teenager at 90, sis is in her 70's and nary a wrinkle or grey hair. Some of my ancestors lived to be well over 100 years old.

Was always in decent health and decent shape, but got diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in 2005. Made some dietary changes, and my A1C went from 12.6 to 5.7. Still workout on an average of 4 hours a week with cardio and weights, and plan to keep on as long as my body holds out.

Y'all are right - our health is too important to let slide - no health, no model building and painting...much less the other stuff...
