Just got the following message on Facebook from Roto Kaiju:

"Hi amigo!! just want let you know we are working on Kong 1962!!"

Told them to message me as soon as they start taking orders. (Their Toho Kong 1967 is a thing of beauty, perfect against the Billiken Mechanikong.)

I urged them to do the '62 Toho Kong when I got their '67 Kong, to go along with the X-Plus 30cm Godzilla (Billiken Kong 62 is too small).

Looks like the Gurr-illa of my dreams!
Better than Billiken......face is hardest part .....spot on.

Now sculpt the fur deep, as vinyl doesn't capture detail as well as resin.....(armchair sculptor line)

Bill, given the job they did with "Gorilla 1967", I don't think we have to worry about that - the "fur" on that figure is the most detailed I've personally seen on any vinyl kit.

Yes indeedy - the absolute worst Kong suit ever made (both of them - the one with the longer arms was particularly bad) - and you know what?

I LOVE it. It is at once BOTH the worst Kong suit ever AND the most ICONIC Kong suit ever. (1933 Kong doesn't count because he was a little figure that was animated by Willis O'Brien.)

I just watched it the other night because of this thread... Iconic indeed!!!
"KK vs G" and "War of G's" are the best Toho Kaiju movies as far as I'm concerned,
when it comes to monster footage, especially the miniature stuff!!!

UPDATE - Beto says he is considering making the kit with alternate arms (both long and short), resin teeth (like he did the 1967 Kong), Berry Jars (!!!!) and maybe some other extras, depending on the number of orders.
