Happy SIXTEENTH Anniversary to the Clubhouse !!!

It’s now SIXTEEN years since 10th April 2001 when we heard the wonderful news: “Congratulations – you have a baby forum!”

It's always a challenge to come up with an "anniversary theme" each year, and this year there was some major cogitation (it's not illegal).

And then it hit me . . .

I've often thought about how much fun psychoanalysts & psychiatrists would have with the behaviour traits we sometimes encounter in online forums (I’m serious - papers could be submitted and PHD’s earned! :) )

Some recent events resulted in me discovering a talented individual who has collected together a few notable “forum personality types”, and added illustrations to suit - https://blog.codinghorror.com/which-onl ... e-are-you/ (WAS http://flamewarriorsguide.com/ but that has become defunct).

Below, I’ve linked those entries that made me chuckle most (about ¼ of what is available on the site). Click pics for direct links to each original webpage, where you'll find a full-size pic and accompanying smile-inducing text :D

I'd like to add my thanks to all of you:
  • • Those that inspire, impress and educate.
    • Those that sculpt, mould and cast.
    • Those that build, paint and share.
    • Those that produce & release.
    • Those that organise events & festivals.
    • Those that created the Clubhouse in the first place!
    • The forum staff that have kept (and keep) this place running.
    • And ALL the members that make this a fun place to hang out, and that have kept this hobby of ours going (even some of you grumpy buggers  ).
          • Happy Birthday & Anniversary to us !!!
  • (* and as we reach this milestone, a reminder we must strive to keep our hormones in check, act our age, and that although we are now legally allowed to screw up . . . be careful who you quote, post & PM with . . . and always protect yourself *)

Wow!
It's our sweet sixteen already?

Time flies when you're having fun.

Thanks to all the members for all the interesting times over the years.

I suppose this would be a good time to post the link to the history of this place

Happy 16th and a big thanks to Spock for keeping the Museum and Gallery as important archives for our hobby.
After re-reading the CH's history I took another look at the CH Gallery and noticed kits I've been posting to the Museum page over the past six months or so have recently been posted to the Gallery (I assume by Spock).
This kind of work must take endless hours and dedication.

And thanks to Spock, Trev, Susan and all the other admins past and present for putting up with us.

Happy birthday Clubhouse!

It was cool to read the History. Looks like I came aboard just as the group left EZ Boards.
Best o luck for the next 16 years (and beyond). :)

Turned out it wasn't short-term, but I found a couple of sites that had archived/used the original content.

I joined in the first year, probably December or January, after rediscovering the hobby in October. I'll conservatively guess I've visited the forums 6,000 times since. I'm sure I've clicked on more than 20,000 threads over the years.

Thanks, folks, for giving me something to do.
