Ideas for new giant monster kits.
I've trying to think of creatures that have either not been represented, were under-represented or simply need a new take in kit form. This is my main modeling genre and I am always looking for a new challenge. Any suggestions?

The host, Tremors, and from primeval the future predator, also from primeval not giant but very cool the camouflage beast. And the beast from sector seven.

How about a reboot of Gabara from Godzilla's Revenge? There are enough kits of him now, but I would like to see a Kaiju Remix of him.
I once sculpted the alien pre orga form of Orga, maybe that would be a good project?

I'd love to have a kit of that.INVISIBLE MAN wrote:Godzuki
Somewhere around 5-7" tall would be great.

Re: Ideas for new giant monster kits.
Wow! These are all some great ideas. I really think there is much to be had here. Even things that may have some representation would hardly be considered overdone. And several characters may have last seen resin 25 years ago, and then in very limited runs. Yes, I would like to see a resurgence of the giant (and not so giant but cool) monsters.
Just off the top of my head, I think "Konga" would make a neat kit. Maybe some of the creatures from the "Sci-Fi" channel type movies would be interesting too. Whatever, because we love monsters!

I also thought of Kraa, Zarkorr, Death Kappa, Raiga, and Demeking. I tried to sculpt Demeking a while back:

Re: Ideas for new giant monster kits.
As a dinosaur modeler, I would like to see more kits based on vintage images, such as how dinosaurs were depicted on the pulp science fiction magazine covers. There are also the splendid images from the Little Golden Book of Dinosaurs that would make fine models. And there are always the great cover images from Star Spangled War Stories.
On the non-dinosaur front, a take on the Crawling Eye creatures would be very cool. They were very creepy with unlimited horror potential.
There are also cryptids that have been under-represented in model form such as the great Ogo Pogo, the giant fur covered, ceratosaur like creature seen in the Northwest, and the very weird Ningen, to name a few.
I like the Tremors creatures a lot too. We absolutely need a full body representation of them!

How about Yongary, Konga, Yongarry and Cyker, The Skull crawler( not attached to Kong) and the Mutos from G 14. The monster Wangmagwi and Pulgasari too!

Those would all make great kits!
I am surprised there has never been a Konga released. He was part of that
Gorgo/Reptilicus/Behemoth era that has long been the source of interest for modelers. He also has quite the different look from any of the King Kongs.

Re: Ideas for new giant monster kits.
Any of the subjects suggested so far would make great kits!
Some more ideas might be another version of "Q, the Winged Serpent", "Caltiki, the Immortal Monster", and toy re-imaginings such as Great Garloo and King Zor.
And I am forever asking for a kit version of the "Spider Pit", maybe as a supplement to the Aurora Kong or Prehistoric Scenes.
Lets hear some more ideas!

Re: Ideas for new giant monster kits.
The new Rampage movie had some cool creature designs. Also both Pacific Rim movies had some interesting concepts to draw on for kits. There was even a Kaiju named "Karloff" in the first movie.

The behemoth from the end of The Mist...
Re: Ideas for new giant monster kits.
Did anyone mention Yamato Takeru? I only know of Sakai's long OOP No Orochi kit and the crummy Bandai toys. I may make another run at sculpting Kumasogami at some point. The sea monster was pretty cool too.
