Farewell ALAN BEAN.

Not sure if this is the place to post this, but for the fans of the early NASA days, Alan Bean died today. He and Pete Conrad had a blast on the moon.
I've got an autographed copy of his art book.
He was one of my favorite Project Apollo astronauts. Goodbye and God Bless Mr. Bean!

I'm really sad about this. Apollo 12 was the first mission to actually have a job to do besides just landing, and they did it very well.
I had the honor to meet him (and Dick Gordon) a bunch of years ago at an autograph show. In just speaking to him for a few minutes he made you feel like you were buds for years. I'm the big doof in between them.

I had the honor of speaking to Alan Bean when I owned Lunar Models and was discussing the Lunar Rover that we produced with him... he wanted one for a painting he was doing...I sent him one ... gratis of course

Like the other NASA astronauts of that golden era, Alan was part of a group that were the true heroes of my childhood. It's sad to think of the living history we lose every time one on them dies. Condolences to his family and friends!

Wow Kev, bet that was a thrill! A good friend of mine got to witness the Apollo 16 launching. He said it was one of the greatest things he's witnessed. It's great to have a picture with Bean I'm sure. Too bad we don't have any movie images of him and Conrad having so much fun. But, things happen...

Boy Mike, I'm invidious of you getting to speak with Bean. He always impressed me as someone easy to sit down with and have a good conversation. I enjoy his art too.
