Deathslayer, custom WIP on ARH Deathdealer

I am reposting a project from a thread that I have been working off and on for awhile at the statue forum, I am about 90% done with what I want to do with this project.

I will retroactively be posting pics in the proper timeline that it was done and all future custom work I will be doing to complete my project, this is another project I call Deathslayer 5 which is Conan taking the helm of the Deathdealer.

Frazetta's painting was hard for me to tell if that was blood or lava on base so I kinda went with a hybrid of blood and lava.

Changed out some hardware to match color and scale.



Fabricated from metal hanger after plastic part broke.

Weathered and repainted boots...I don't have before pics but it was a basic 1 color silver.
Also added stud outside of spurs.

Here is a stock picture of prepainted boot and stirrup.

Changed out the tassels on the stirrups.


Weathered and repainted stirrups, also drilled and put in tiny ring magnets to connect tassels.

Hated the paint and casting on mouth.

ARH has good paintups compared to most other companies, but yours is even much better than this. Well done!

Thanks lukvader, took a break on the retroactive pictures posting, did a lot more custom work that I will be posting retroactively.

Redid eyes and resculpted hair/mane to match closer to painting...weathered the leather straps.

ARH hooked me up with 1 extra left and right arms/weapons...they were pretty cool about my situation...I was working on and left my right axe arm and left shield arm on my deck, I had a mishap with my yard guys blowing those parts off the deck down my hill, had no idea where it was and I definitely thought it was gone for good.
I later found ithose parts at the bottom of my hill buried and broken in the dirt under a ton of leaves...by then I already received and repainted the replacement parts... so I planned on customizing the broken parts. Wanna redo the axe hand to let the axe lean over his shoulder than add a switchout sword and big axe to the shield arm and make them all interchangeable.






Pinned and reglued broken axe handle...also changed hand to wrist position to get Axe to lean on shoulder.

Seperated sword handle and pommel from scabbard, now it can be removed when sword is in the Deathdealers hand.

Added blood work to the axes.

Redid the horse reins to match Visible areas of the painting...mcgyvered other areas not visible in painting.

Made some small adjustments to match Franks painting a little more...the horse stirrup was set up high under the chain link skirt where you couldn't see the connected ring like in Franks painting...added the rings than lowered and reset boot/stirrup to match painting.
