Ursula Andress

#1 Post by KelE »

I did this as a 3d printing test (down the road).
One figure ended up as three.
Between one of these and my Vincent Price bust, I should have something to use (after I learn the process or merging/decimation/hollowing out..).

Thanks for looking.

Very nice, I particularly like the "She" version with headdress

Yes the version that almost drove me completely bonkers. lol
The original plan was to just do the poster image for SHE (a painted image of her with hands on hips and Raquel Welch next to her from One Million Years BC), but turns out there wasn't enough good reference for that particular image pose and I thought, you know, the feathered look is pretty distinctive, maybe I should do that too, but that is so much work, one would be crazy to try....in the end it took a while to do all the feathers even with a lot of insert mesh cloning. I had to make each feather look as individual as possible--I also had to study the headdress to match it. It's a little asymmetrical so I made some adjustments to match it

It's not easy doing a sculpture of someone from early 1960s photos especially if they did not make a lot of movies. I found out after I committed to it how spotty her 1960s filmography was! She averaged maybe one movie a year unless IMDB is incomplete.
The 10Th Victim and the Blue Max were most valuable in photo reference but I also was lucky that Getty Images increased its free image sample sizes recently so I could get some good ones there too.

But it's time for a vacation from sculpting (and looking at Ursula Andress pictures).

I agree with KathyD, the version with the full She costume is superb! The Dr. No and more casual She are lovely indeed, but that third one really caught my eye.

Thanks Stewart. Should be interesting to see if that one can be printed. I imagine the tips of the feathers would have to be thickened a fair bit where their edges show.

This was meant as a test run for a Caroline Munro Golden Voyage of Sinbad figure--I am not keeping anything secret anymore!

Happy birthday Ursula Andress!
I haven't felt like sculpting so that is why I haven't done anything since this.
The feathers blew my mind.
:)
I'd like to try 3d printing eventually.

Hopefully I can get some printed version of it, but I suspect the feathers would need a lot of alteration.

I have a lot of difficulty deciding on a new one.
I had planned to do Caroline Munro, but I still haven't started beyond some picture gathering.
I did do a fake Hammer movie poster in a 1960s style just for kicks though (think the Lost Continent merged with Moon Zero Two). So I am not completely burned out!

Finally did some 3d print preparation though from what I read it will be really tough to print this.
I inflated the feathers and removed as many undercuts but I suspect not nearly enough.

I cut it up so I have just a head and neck to test printing with.
That's the next step.
