Batman - Gotham by Gaslight bust by Gabe Perna

#1 Post by derekc62 »

This was the subject of the AFM Modelling Boot Camp at this year's JerseyFest.
Once again we had a great time with 'drill sergeant" Dave Prosser.
My son won bronze for his bust - his first kit ever - and each student in the class finished by day's end.
I stripped the flesh from mine and repainted the face at home since I had some issues with my application.
So here's the finished result. The casting, btw, was perfect, rich in texture on the duster and there wasn't even a hint of a seam.

The flesh tones and the painting you did on all the other textures is excellent. That leather looks real!

Thanks very much guys.
The duster was done with some simple dry brushing - very dry dry brushing.
And I'm always trying to get improve my flesh tones but I do like to leave a little blemish here and there because very few of us have perfect skin :)
Dave Prosser's a great instructor so if you ever have a chance to take an AFM class with him at Wonderfest or JerseyFest it's highly recommended.
