Just wanted to build something that I thought would be simple. And since I recently seen a commercial for this movie coming out called "Ad Astra". I decided to built this Proton-7 Russian rocket model. Its by START. Made in Russia. 1:288 scale styrene plastic kit. Instructions were in Russian. So I translated them into English. The internet can do wonders. The model was not easy to build. Several things made it difficult, first the "X" supports between rocket sections was flat. You had to shape it into a circle. No matter what I did it always cracked apart. Then there was the launch pad. You had to try and level the rocket to the supports of the launch pad. Trying to get them so the rocket stood straight up was a real trick. Then there were the decals that kept cracking as they were applied. This kit is suppose to be easy for kids. I doubt a kid could even build one. After I finished it, it looked..... ok. Not my best work. But I made the best of it. So here's a model you won't see too often. Enjoy! [/img]
Yeah those russian kits are a challenge to be sure. I gave up on the X supports and just cut them up in pieces. Not as round looking as yours but in that tiny scale it wasn't too bad.
Even with its quirks you did a great job! Wait till you try Starts Energia/Braun kit if you have one. Ay Yai, Yai!
