I've been meaning to post this for a while - this is something I got from eBay, stripped, and finished in my vision. Our man Jim out in Arid-Zona, I believe, did one as a cake topper a few years back -
Did some research and found that it is approx. 7.75" tall and available at Ebay/ Walmart/ Amazon. Although I couldn't find a sculptor, my best guess is that it is based on the Pin-Up art of Monte M. Moore. A piece called "Merotique".
All that said, what you did with the repaint is simply AMAZING !
Thanks, Harry! And Thanks, V'Ger! And Harry, thanks for chuckin' my stuff in the gallery - Feel free to put in whatever you like from my Flickr account - more will be put in in the months to come -

Maybe it's just me - but she has a definite "Salma Hayek" look about her - and since I have a particular fondness for said lady - I'm SO not complaining
A word of caution: There are at least 2 "versions" of the gold pre-painted mermaid. Based on one of the earlier paintups (possibly the cake one), I ordered one from Amazon about 4 years ago. Unfortunately, the one I received was not the same as the one shown on the Amazon website. It was a much more crude sculpt, and kind of ugly. I returned it for a refund and bought the correct one from a different seller. It's still in the queue to be painted.
Here is the ugly one that got shipped back to Amazon:
This is truly an amazing piece! You brought out the sensuous feeling to her look with her skin tones, hair highlights, and eye shadow. It's almost as if you can hear the sound of the siren song.
I also like the way you did the tail and scales. This outstanding work.
