Daimos 2005 Rodan Resin Kit

#1 Post by Jon LeGrand »

Here is a small resin kit of only two pieces, a bit over 5 inches tall, 2 inches of that is the building base.
It depicts Rodan's appearance in New York City in the 2005 movie, Godzilla Final Wars.
Here is a video if you are so inclined to watch it:

Cute little kit.
Will give more thoughts after I watch the video this weekend.

Again, nice little kit.
I really like all the color transitions and shading you put into those wings.
You actually have quite a bit of color variation on such a small kit. I like how the chest is lighter than the rest of the body, which is different than the wings. And you got some nice accents in there too.
I think what impresses me the most though is how cleanly you painted all those windows on the building. While the building itself is nicely dirtied and grimy, the windows are sharp and well defined.

What a great scene to model!

I'm with Trevor... what detail and perfection in such a small scale. Most impressive!

Jon, I'm running out of accolades... every paintup you post is professional and nothing short of perfect in my eyes. Great detail and your lines look flawless. Did you have to use any masking or did you do that job freehand?

While I'm more of a Showa Era guy but Final Wars had some great designs. Rodan's latest incarnation is pretty bad-azz as well.

More great work! I haven't been on the Clubhouse like I used to and now I've discovered your YouTube channel. I've got lots to do. :) "Sorry my mouth is not open." Funny!
