Tall and tan and young and lovely

#1 Post by AZ »

The girl from Ipanema goes walking.

My first completed paint-up of 2022. This kit was produced about 3 years ago by Felipe of HQ Model Kits. It is just a shade under 1/6 scale, and was digitally sculpted by Fábio Paiva based on a concept by Massimo Carnevale. I was originally planning a more elaborate color scheme for the bikini, but once I saw photos online of Helô Pinheiro, the real girl from Ipanema, I decided to keep it simple more like the swimsuits Helô wore in the photos. The resin sunglasses provided with the kit were extremely thin and flimsy, and they basically fell apart in my hands. So I substituted some doll/action figure glasses I found on ebay.

Very cool. 8) 8)
Helena is here at hand;
And the youth, mistook by me,
Pleading for a lover's fee.
Shall we their fond pageant see?

Geez, now I want some Ice Cream. Love the clean and crisp paint job.
