Ghostbusters Afterlife

#1 Post by tay666 »

I finally got a chance to watch this movie.
Came here to comment about it, and was surprised there wasn't a discussion already.

I really like it.
I thought it was very well done.
I liked the way they tied it in, and brought things together. I even liked the cast, and thought the kids all had their own personalities and seemed very realistic (as much as could be given the movie this is)
There was some truely laugh out loud moments as well.

I'll be honest, there are no real surprises in this movie.
But even being able to see what was coming ahead of time, didn't detract from the enjoyment. To me, that is a sign of a good movie. When it can still entertain you when you know what is going to happen.

I'd watch it again with no regrets.

I agree - I'll certainly watch it again at some point.

Not a classic, and it's not up there with the 1st one . . . but that was no surprise.

Well-worth a watch for those that haven't yet got around to it.

No, not as good as the first, but I think it might be slightly better than the 2nd one.

I saw this one on the plane a couple years ago, and must say I was pleasantly surprised. The way they brought Egon back digitally, made the whole thing tie together at the end.

Just think how great a sequel they could have made while Ramis was still around, had it not been, apparently, for Bill Murray's various shenanigans over the years that estranged the two of them. Ah what might have been ...

I thought they did an excellent job making this film. The premise and cast were very good.

To me the first half or so was good right up until they ran out of creativity and decided to remake the original. Which is one of the best horror comedies if not one of the best movies ever.

I need to see Ghostbusters 2 again and the sequel to Afterlife. Perhaps watch some of the old Real Ghostbusters cartoon as I remember some of those episodes were good.
