Painting a Moonlight pattern with airbrush.

I have the model with Abbot and Costello as skeletons in the opening title of Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein it's the cartoon, How would I go about making the Moonlight pattern on the floor with the bars ? I tried frisket and sprayed white paint with low tact but it didn't work the air from the airbrush lifted the frisket, photo of someone elise's model. Any help would be appreciated. Karl
