#1 Post by AntMan »

Hi,

I've just put the finishing touches in on a report on this year's MosquitoCon Modeling Show.
You can view it by going here: https://www.scififantmodmadrealm.com/Mo ... n31-1.html

Happy reading.

Thanks, Tony!

(damn Gundams!!! My youngest son builds about 3 of these every month
or so! I look at um' and tell him, "You know these are all the same kits.
Just different color molding!")

He just shakes his head muttering! :)

They are not the same Buc.
They are all unique individuals.

Nice pics Ant.
Glad you had some luck selling kits.

Thanks Buc! You know the saying??? (If you can't beat 'em, join 'em). :D
Come on, guy! Join us in the "Dark Side" of the modeling realm.
(Actually that should more accurately be coined "The red, white and blue side",
since often these are the primary colors of Gundams).

You've been talking about your son and his Gundam modeling for, what, how long???
(Years)???? I'd say that it's time to roll up your sleeves and give building one a try.

You may discover that things like their great engineering, ease of assembly along with their
very tight snap-fitting characteristics ends up pulling you in.

Then, there's the fact that all of the parts are molded in color, (eliminating the need for painting)
which can be an added benefit.

There's also the fact that they are a-r-t-i-c-u-l-a-t-e, which allows you to "strike that kewl pose"
with them.

For some of the Gundams I've built, I've just marveled at the engineering which goes into creating
the "sprued-up" parts. There are some sprue which contain parts of different colors, which have been
created using the same gate.

Another added benefit would be that this can be a GREAT father-and-son building experience/activity.
(Read a Gundam Building article which I originally wrote, years and years ago:
https://www.scififantmodmadrealm.com/Gundam1.html ).

If you have never, EVER built a Gundam, give one a try. You may be surprised (shocked?) to discover
that it's not as bad as you've made it out to be.

:D

Trev,

AGREED!

We're all going to have to try to pull Buc into the Gundam building realm! :)

Thanks for your compliment.

It's always nice, when I'm packing back up to return home when to discover
that I have more space in my plastic boxes than I originally had when unpacking
them.
