I recently put fresh batteries in this model I did a very long time ago. It was/is in storage in my work area. Love the film and love the ship. Would enjoy revisiting the subject matter some time in the future.

Wonderful work (modelling AND photography) as always Mark
I only have a couple of films from the 50's that are in my "classics" list - and this is 1 of them! (Night/Curse of the Demon is the other).

I'm with Ian. Very, very nice work on "The Beast" as I call it. You must have very deep shelves. I can't see any section seams in the saucer - that's an achievement in itself.
Definitely a landmark in SF cinema. Would there have been a Star Trek without it? What about LIS?

Absolutely THE landmark sci Fi space film that influenced all the ones to come ... from Star Trek and Star Wars to the original Total Recall (Remember the Martian oxygen machine tunnels?)
Your stored ship would've been THE centrepiece of most of our displays! Brilliant work!!!

Many sincere thanks guys! I appreciate it! Love this ship. It's back on the top of my storage area. Again, I hope to revisit the subject matter again someday.

I too love the C57D and all the other hardware in Forbidden Planet. I'm currently working on the kits from FP as part of a thread on modeling 50's Sci-fi movies.JOHN ROBINSON wrote: ↑October 7th, 2023, 12:20 pm Many sincere thanks guys! I appreciate it! Candid Monsters magazine have just released an issue dedicated to Forbidden Planet: https://www.mymoviemonsters.com/store.p ... et__latest. Highly recommended as with all issues of this mag.
