Gogos-style Creature from the Black Lagoon

#1 Post by derekc62 »

So after finishing my last project five days ago I was looking for something fresh to paint and there on my bench was a half-finished Creature from the Black Lagoon.

I had started it in the traditional way of greens and browns to get a 'fishy' look. But then I thought, why not try something new?

The answer was a first attempt at a Basil Gogos-style Creature.

I found an image I liked, hauled out the air brush and went crazy with the color. The only parts of this bust that were hand painted were the eyes, white highlights and some of the darker lined shadows.

The bust is 1/4 scale solid resin, sculpted by Jeff Yagher and produced by Mark Warthling's Pestilence Labs.

Thanks very much guys, your comments are most appreciated.

I always like to try something a little new, but this was completely out of my comfort zone :)
