My 2024 projects

#1 Post by derekc62 »

I managed one a month this past year and was pretty pleased with most of the results.
One was done as a commission, the rest are lining my shelves...

Great year for you - Awesome collection of beautiful work!
Finishing one a month is a very impressive productivity rate that I wish I could achieve.
See my model kit collection on YouTube Model Club TV Episode 86

Thanks for looking !

You are a superb painter Derek!
I've already individually commented I think on most of these pieces, every single one of them could be somebody's kit build of the year. 🀩πŸ₯°πŸ’₯πŸ‘€πŸ‘πŸ₯³πŸŽ‡

PS I do have to repeat that the Lon Chaney clown is just about one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in the hobby! πŸ‘€πŸ˜

That's a year to be proud of, certainly in quantity and especially in quality. =D>

Thank you very kindly Harry and Trevor.

If you're like me, the more you look at your work the more you think you could have done better. But there are five pieces in there that I'm very happy with where I wouldn't change a single thing.

Honestly if I don't stop myself I could keep 'fixing' kits endlessly.
Kit's are never done, they are just abandoned and called done.

Yup - I resemble that remark - there's not a ONE that I can look at and not think I could have done this or that just a little different ... Maybe Cipriano Kong Up Top 3.0 with the dirigible, but outside of that one - NONE. :?

Edit: No, even that one I wish I had added a second Art Deco ring at the very bottom. Missed that detail ... but then, its easily fixable ... NO-NO-STOP IT!!!!

Darn you Trevor, DARN you!

After our exchange last night, I measured the Cipriano Kong bash - and then ordered the two additional wooden circle "donuts" that I will need to add the extra Art Deco ring at the bottom of the tower from my Etsy supplier in SoCal.... its un-be-lie-vable I tell you - can we EVER get a kit or bash just the way we want it - THE FIRST TIME?!?!?!?! :rolf:

Thanks very much guys.

Derek - At first I thought "heh, well, I don't think it would be economical to ship that 6-foot dinosaur all the way up North" ... :alcoholic:

... but then ... I had a serious thought. I'll reach out to you via FB later on about it - its a bit easier than going through the PM system here ... I actually DO have a little bust (that you might have seen in the background on my bench) that I got as a gift about 33 years ago, started in on it, but never got far. Look for that message ... I think I just might want to "Have a Conlon" on my shelf, if you know what I mean, and this one is the perfect subject matter ...

... in fact, you might even say that its "Bully!" :mrgreen2:
