Adam Savage builds a new AT-ST

#1 Post by tay666 »

A while back I posted about an amazing AT-AT kit that Adam got.

Well, now he has an AT-ST from Merlin Models and builds and primes the whole thing in this video.

It's not cheap, but man is it beautiful.

I watched this and was then curious to know the price....
... $1300 but "on sale" for $850.

It's superb, but.....

Cool model, but for less money you can get a decent 3d printer and an Stl file from Gambody or CG Trader and print out an army of these.

Yeah, these kits are not for the casual fan. These are for those that want as close to 100% accuracy as you can get.

Nice as they and I can understand the appeal, these kinds of kits leave me rather cold. And you can do an awful lot with the cost of one of them.

Oh, I agree, but for those that have the cash, why not?
No different than those that spend that much on a new Godzilla kit. Which is why my Godzilla collection is pretty small. I wish I could get more, but when a 4" kit runs $120-150 I just have to sit on the sidelines.
