Great report, as always. I'm just glad I wasn't a judge - some really amazing work showcased there.

Thanks! I appreciate you compliments.

And yeah, about my sales. I'm started to get into a dilemma??? :?: I'm started to run out of kits to sell,
which is pushing me further and further into visiting my personal stash.

Since I still have waaay too many kits to build (in my lifetime, or 2 or 3 more lifetimes), I guess I'm going
in the right direction, (right)???

Thank you, Overspray, and agreed! It's really a shame that they don't change over to a Gold-Silver-Bronze
award system.

Absolutely - unless you've got a computerized list with photos, its easy to forget what all you have buried in boxes. What' s the point of that? Better to pass it on to someone who might actually build it (and recoup some of the $$$ we spent impulsively) ... or ... you can be like Scott Johansen ... and turn your 2000sf basement into a warehouse ... :rolf:

I hear you. I plan on cleaning out some kits soon. I've got several that I realize will never make it to the bench. Better to move them on to someone else and make more room.
If I start clearing stuff now then I might have a reasonable chance of building everything eventually.

AGREED!!!!

:D

Each time I think about this idea, I can't help but think back to something said in the Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer cartoon.
It's towards the end of the show, when one of the misfit toys is lamenting on how they're going to spend another year being unloved.

I can't help but think that this also applies to our unbuilt model kits??? :)

(Yeah - The way my mind works sometimes is "interesting").

I wonder if any of you all have ever done something like this??? :?:

Soooo, you'll see a really nice, kewl kit that catches your eye, that you JUST HAVE TO HAVE!

You go and purchase it and take it home, and before long your original inspiration for the kit starts to wane, and you end up moving it away, (either into an attic or a crawl space or a cellar or some other place out of the way, to make space).

THEN, months or maybe years later, you're at another model show or hobby store, and you see a really nice, kewl model kit, (which catches your eye). You just have to have it. Sooo, you purchase it, taking it home in your enthusiasm. Then a couple of weeks, or maybe a month or two passes by, and since you haven't started working on it yet, you decide to move it away, to make space.

When you go to your "model storage area", you are SURPRISED to see one of the same kit!!!

I recently did this, (going into ONE of my attics, where I'm storing my "extra" model kits), and when checking out several plastic boxes up there, I discovered not just TWO, but THREE of the same Gundam kit! Sooo, I had actually done that THREE TIMES, (since they were all purchased on different occasions). :shrug

So YES, I think it's time for me to start liquidating more of my extra kits.

I have almost done that a few times. See a cool kit at WF and almost bought it. Find out when I get home that I already have it anyway.
Usually happens with Godzilla kits. I don't see them cheap very often, so when I do I get excited.
