The base figure is two Marvel Legends Series 1 Hulks. The first part of the sculpt was the head:

I sculpted the head over the Hulk's noggin, preserving the eyes. Next, I anchored the upper chest and arms to the lower torso:

While I was initially planning on this configuration, I figured that if I shifted the chest up onto the shoulders of the lower torso, I may achieve a slightly more "ape-like" pose and physicality:

From this point, I began sculpting the torso in earnest, using epoxy putty (I also dremelled away the fabric folds of the Hulk's torn pants):

And here is the WIP in an Ape crouch:

I recieved some feedback on the WIP, and took some suggestions to heart. I decided to completely resculpt the stomach, making it larger and covering the useless articulation that cut across the stomach. I also added heftier muscle to the lower forearms and legs, and I developed the musculature of the back, making the back arch less pronounced.
Here's the finished product:

He's far from perfect with regard to fantastical anatomy, and there are some rough areas, but I'm happy with the way he turned out.

The paint for the skin was done in layers, using a variety of colors to capture a pale, hopefully naturalistic skin tone.

I may make an alternate, swappable snarling head...I like this sculpt, but perhaps he should have the option of showing his nastier side as well.

Here's the group shot with my other ERB Mars customs:

Let me know what you think, and thanks for looking.
