Well if thats for real what you are seeing is a nice prototype paint job versus and awful factory one. It looks like they changed the hands too, and not in a good way. Time for a repaint!

Yeeesh...

Liquid, is this your personal copy? If so, how does the sculpture look? Hell, even if the paint looks like crap and the sculpt is good, it's not bad at all. Just wash it, prime and repaint that bad boy.

Found this on e-bay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sota-PUMPKINHEAD-FI ... 0051505988

As you can see, it does'nt look quite as bad as the picture Liquid posted, which actually looks like someone tried to make it look as horrible as possible...But we all know by now that most figural prototypes end up looking laeps and bounds better than the end result available to the masses. But like I said: If the sculpt is good, then it's up to us artists to paint it up and make it look as good as we see fit!

I'm gonna get one.

Thats too bad - I was looking forward to this, maybe not so much now.

I should just build and paint my Geometric kit instead...

Reminds me of the diverse flaws in the Dark Horse Dracula pre-paint that Thomas Kuntz sculpted. I saw as many really bad paint jobs as I did decr=ent ones, and a good number of really bad casting flaws on the head, and some not so bad.

Looks like an airbrush overcoat will punch down the veins, and the head needs work. Too bad--but then again, most of us want a sculpture and usually paint the stuff we love most.

Good luck with what you end up with!

OMFG....... :btongue: ............. :buhg:

If it looks anything like that I am throwing it back on the F#####G truck.

It was bad enough buying the Darkness from Legend for 80 bucks only to have his head fall off and torso broke in half..... [-(

Now this.....WTF.....I could have painted this better with the brush sticking out of my A$$.

And don't even get me started on those crappy busts they made either.....

Well I'm glad to hear that my Darkness figure isn't the only one with a head problems!! The damn thing fell off and I can't get it to go back on the ball socket. I'm afraid if I push too hard it will break. I'm just about ready to glue the #&%@$$# and be done with it!! :cussing:

The Pumpkinhead looks like it might be worth a decent paint job. As long as it's a good sculpt...............AND HIS HEAD WILL STAY ON!!!!!!!!

Sorry...............I'm better now. :?

OH man....I went to pick this up today from my buddies comic shop and handed it right back to him.

It looks really really bad........ Just like the above pictures in the first post.

I can't believe they let this product go out looking like this.

It could be easily repainted, but for $75.00, it should look good already.

Very dissapointed in SOTA for releasing this like they did. This could have been a great piece.

This is false advertising without a doubt.......

Thanks the Gods for the sharp people posting on this site. when I saw the photo, I cancelled mine before it was shipped.

Some people say it's the pre paints that are killing this hobby.

$75 for that? What is it? I thought it was somekind of vinyl toy. Is this supposed to be a collectible figure or a big action figure? Doesn't look a thing like in their web site.

They got some LEGEND Darkness figures for $250. Hey! They got a Baron Harkonnen figure for $15. It kinda sorta looks like Ken McMillan too. 8) The Lovecraft stuff looks cool too. But I guess those are shots of prototypes?

CALM DOWN. It's only a hobby.

I should have known you were here on this board. I have one of those Pheads coming to me. Maybe after Robby? That is unless you are very busy.
