Mixing Wax Recipes

Here are recipes for mixing wax from Tony (Popeye)
Tony C' recipe
Tom
-1 lb. of Victory brown ( microcrystaline wax) This is the 'binder'
It's brown and gummy
-1 lb of white paraffin
makes it brittle
-1 lb white carving wax ( Polytex POLYWAX # 15)
it's rock hard and flaky....
-8 oz. Beeswax pellets
yellow
-A bunch of white and red Crayola crayons....color to taste.
makes it opaque
Melt everything in a medium suacepan over a medium heat. Stir constantly....
This batch is a little sticky...but it works nicely. Not very hard....but I ran out of ASBRO. I throw in ASBRO to make it harder.
Let me get that CORRECT formula....it's here somewhere.....I'll post it on a seperate thread. This was just me playing around with old wax I had in the garage.....It's working, works nicely with a wax pen...cools pretty hard... but the formula given to me by Tim Bruckner was better....
Microcrystalline (yello) -2lbs.
Bees Wax -100 grams
Injection Wax -Red 100 grams
-Aqua 390 grams
Crayola White -162 grams
Red -23 grams
Poly Wax -437 grams (This is my addition to Tim's for hardn(ess)
Make sure you filter through a screen or nylon.
