Memro 09 Report
I went up on saturday and got in on one of their "early bird" tickets so I could selfishly grab any bargins before the masses flooded in.
Didn't see many (apart from a Mobius Flying Sub,which by the time I'd made my mind up to buy was gone)
.
There were some nice build ups on display though, but to be honest I was done in about a hour .
But before I nipped off I went and checked out a model dealers table I'd noticed earlier called Kipper Kits ? or something similar,
I think they are new to the hobby so I thought I spend some money there just so they at least they would have their bus fare home.
It's a small family run busines from what I could tell because they all looked related, anyway they turned out to be quite knowledgeable about the GK scene, and were rather decent chaps.I also met Mikeyb there and brought one of his kneeling Terminator kits off him (thanks Mike). In the end I came away with a couple of Kitbuilders mags and two nice kits, Mikeyb's Terminator and a Bub bust off those Killer Kats people

Well back home from the Memro weekend and as usual tired after it.
The March show is always the smaller, quieter of the two annual shows, November being the better of the two. However, the show was well attended and a sudden rush of people mid day Sunday was very noticable.
I spoke to one trader who said it was his best ever Memro!! So I guess you can never tell what the day will bring.
The Killer Kits table had a steady stream of people looking and asking questions, stock was sold and we all went home happy......It was hard work at times, but with the present financial climate we were not surprised. However the new 1/1 scale Joker bust was a huge hit and was sold out at the show. Dave is in the process of having more cast up, but it maybe a limited run, so get your order in (I got one and they are real quality, amazing likeness!
)
It was great to meet new CH members, Nemo-UK was a decent bloke, even if it was like getting blood from a stone to get him to part with his cash......Seriously, good to meet and chat with you Dean
Now go paint that Bub piece and show it here!
Steve (Reaper) and John (John5) hung with us over the weekend, also two guys I'd not met before, both good blokes, and I'm sure had a laugh. Steve (Reaper) brought some of his new kits to the show and I was amazed at the quality, that is to say, the pics posted here at the CH didn't do then justice. Nice paint ups on the KK table, especially the Marv & Batman busts. I picked up the Batman bust and will review it in the HE later.
There were the usual nutters at the show, you know people dressed up in costumes, and I think I got some cracking pics......even one of Reaper squaring up to a very large Batman!!!:batman:
Oh and a 7 foot Chewwie......I'll post pics up ASAP.....Borat was on form, no kilt but shorts, Charlie Brown T-shirt, with skinny white legs and odd shoes, even though there was heavy frost on the second morning gives you some idea of how cold it was. Then getting arrersted by the roaming StormTroopers for making his Chewbacca noises just as they passed and making them jump.....I kid you not, it's THAT loud!!
Anyway, as usual it was a good crack.......pics to come!!
Keith
