So, what did you get at the show?

#1 Post by tay666 »

Since it is going to be a few days until I can get to the pictures I took, might as well talk about the goodies we got.

I scored the Taarna on Bird, and the best part was, it was only $80!
Also got the Bandai MechaGodzilla. Resin Rhinos Breakfast is Tiffany, and the Graveyard Scenes bases from Cultman.

I'll let Britny post her stuff herself.

Jim...only the Dejah Thoris? You didn't buy anything else? :? Man, I wish I had THAT much control.

Still, it was a short list for me this year too:

Maggie from Resin Realities
Winged Karnstein from Solarwind
Ape-onauts from the Dimensional Design table
Morphogenesis Batgirl from Mike Falcigno

and one other kit that I didn't have to pay for...but that's for another thread.

i actually bough more gifts for friends than things for myself!

for me i got the model giants creature bust, the steve wang alien bust , a premade face hugger toy, a geometric gargoyle wall sconce, and a sotar 20-20 airbrush (an incredible deal on that!).

by the way folks, do yourself a favor and get a wang alien bust. you will spend ages just marveling at the sculpt. (im debating buying a second one to paint, and leave this (autographed) one unpainted, just to be able to study the sculpture without the distraction of the paint job.)

my royalty check showed up the day AFTER i got back, and in ways i am glad it did, cause it kept me from going hog wild. i still have stuff from the last show that i haven't finished yet!

Garrett got a pair of Bandai Godzilla vinyls (05 and 04 Mecha G for those keeping track), plus a pair of Disney Store exclusive Mr. Potato Heads (Spiderman and Boba Fett) from a dear friend, both of which he is supposed to share with his sister... He also scored BIGTIME when my buddy ShaneM asked me to come out to his ride- A whole stack of dinosaur, Star Wars, and Gundam kits!!! I mean enough for Garrett to set up a table next year (not that he will)!!!

Mo got the last Bandai die-cast Mecha Godzilla needed to complete her collection (for less than it would cost to actually ship it!!!), and...

I got a bunch of parts for my H&S airbrush (I mean A BUNCH!!!), a Garthok from Kitkong in a trade, a new Badger Renegade Spirit, AND (most importantly!) am still married after returning home!!! First year since being with Mo that she and the kids didn't make it!!!

Above all that though, and even though my entire family couldn't make it, I got to spend time with some of the best friends, coolest people, and "best mofos" I've had the pleasure of sharing a drink, meal, story, or just space with!!!

Well, I did pick up a few bottles of paint, a replacement needle for the airbrush, and a little electric paint stirrer. So I guess I splurged after all!
