NEW FROM PARAGRAFIX: Easy LED - the simple lighting solution

#1 Post by Paulbo »

I've just gotten the first production run from the factory and can now announce my latest product: Easy LED.

No more figuring out the right resistor, no more complicated circuits. Just cut to legth (cut spaces every 5cm - 2" in 3 LED sections), solder or crimp leads, and connect to 6 to 12 volt power. Easy LED is even equipped with 3M pressure sensitive adhesive for easy installation in your model, and is flexible enought for most any application.

This will be up on my site on Sunday, and will be shipping on Monday. The price is $8.95 for 30cm (approximately 1 foot - 18 LEDs) and $14.95 for 60cm (approximately 2 feet - 36 LEDs).

These are very quick pictures - I'll be taking better pictures on Sunday.

Nice.
I saw something just like this at the auto supply store a few years ago in an assortment of colors, this looks like an updated version.

Thanks, all!

Yes, it's essentially the same material for cars, but without the waterproofing.

You've got it Jimi! It'll be on its way Monday.

They must have just reset the clock on the forum server - my original post was marked as about 5 hours after I posted it (as apparently are all the ones up to Jimi's request for the material on account), then my reply to that has the correct time and was stuck way up the thread.

Hmmm. Some odd problems going on at The Clubhouse these days.

Paul, you can just send me 2 feet right now and put it on my tab.

Genius. A little hot glue and some fiber optic cable... :xmas:

That's bizarre, Jimi - I KNOW I responded to your post yesterday (in the affirmative, of course), but it's not here. Hmmm.

Anyway, for everyone else, I've just posted the order page to my site: http://www.paragrafix.biz/product_detai ... PGX139-0.3

I *did* reply - it was the post before my one about the weird time-change thingy. I forgot to look further up the thread. Phew!

REALLY NEW! Easy LED 20cm - the experimenter's set.

About 8" (20cm) long, this set is great for experimenting with Easy LED because of its shorter length and low price ($4.95). And as a bonus, one end is pre-wired so you can work with it right away.

Thanks guys!

I just got in test runs of various colors to play with (oops, I meant "test") and gauge how much I should stock of each.

I also have in some RGB material, but I'm not sure about going forward with that because it's significantly more expensive (about twice the price) and harder to work with (4 wires instead of 2, plus resistors to alter the colors*).

* As an alternative to wiring up resistors, I have access to a controller but it's about $35 or $40 retail and will only run one section of lights (unless you want everything in one model in a single color). Hmm - must send some off to Randy of VooDooFX.

Looks good Paul. I'm thinking about putting a strip into the back of the FineMolds Millenium Falcon for the engine lighting effect. I got those clear engine blocks form John at SSM a while back.
Steven

CALM DOWN. It's only a hobby.

Oh, and MODEL ON!

Oh - YEAH baby! 8) "Clear engine blocks"?

(* and part of my reason for adding to this thread is that ANYTHING that helps me understand how to add LED's to kits has SO got my vote :D *)
