1/4 scale females

#1 Post by dapride »

This looked like the most likely place to post original (not kits) figure models. I have made about 20 in all.

Thank you everyone who commented. This figure, and the others I referred to, are all sculpted, molded, cast, and painted by me.
Most are sculpted in Super Sculpy then silicone molded and cast in tool grade urethane resin. I now rotary cast most things that big (16"-18" high) to save a lot of resin. That method gives me a shell about 2mm thick.

Two more angles of Rocket Girl.

Thanks RTBS, I will take more photos soon as I have to clean most of the figures.
This is the only one I digitally modeled and molded. "Bazooka Girl" is rotary cast. I used Zbrush to do the original.
Even though the key pieces were printed at 16 microns, there was still clean up to do. The body was printed at a lower resolution in styrene
while the head, hands, and boots were printed in wax. The clothing is nylon stocking material. The eyes are glass.

Those look great.
Who are you and where have you been? With sculpts like these you will have a massive following and people begging for kits.
Do you have a website? DeviantArt account?

Great job on the sculpting and am particilarly impressed with the paint job on bazooka girl, did you do that yourself as well or have it done by someone?

Thanks for the replies.
I built most of the figures during the production of the Matrix movies which I worked on as design engineer.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0697252/
I had to live away from my home workshop so I did a lot of sculpting at the flat I stayed in.
None will ever be produced as kits as I like to have unique models.
All were painted with automotive acrylic "Duco" with a Binks "Wren" airbrush.

I am putting a website together now which contains a cross section of my work. I will post the link soon.
It will have a model section mostly relating to film.

Thanks again for the interest.
