Namor the Sub-Mariner
Namor was created by Bill Everett for Funnies Inc. in 1939.
The Sub-Mariner first appeared publicly in Marvel Comics #1 (Oct. 1939) predecessor of Marvel Comics.
The name Namor came about because Everett thought spelling
a noble sounding name like Roman backwards sounded best.
