Mike used to offer these in a bronze finish - he also reused the bas-relief figures on this plaque and offered the in several smaller vignettes.

True, but there are two versions of the head, so one has not been made in plastic. It would be nice to have the alternate head. And as you know resin would be more detailed and crisp.

I would leave it unpainted. My PL Delorean has the chrome finish that was scuffed to look like stainless steel, but it needs to be scuffed more to make more uniform. As far as decals I haven't seen any. If you have a color printer you could print them from a pic.

I've heard that MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) works just as good. You can find it in Home Depot or Lowes by the paint thinner and solvents.

Thanks, though I must admit I was surprised it worked and I suspect it may have been beginners luck. Also, FWIW the bulb is not the same size as the collar so I have some work to do there to make it match up. Sounds like the custom made alternative may be more desirable for those who have the cash. ...
