The lighting takes it to a whole other level. Great work, especially at that scale.

Re: Sealing/Finishing paint
I second Derek's opinion of Dulcote for flat finishes. Behr Chalk from Home Depot does a decent job as well. For gloss, I've used a floor wax - Pledge Revive It. I find most of the "matte" sprays to be too shiny, regardless of brand. Overall, I much prefer Duplicolor and Krylon over Rustol...

That's very sad. He also did the Dark Horse Bride and Screamin's 1/4 scale Freddy Kreuger and Jason Vorhees.

Thanks! That's certainly a big improvement. Should be the right scale, too.

Question on finding replacement heads
I am building Warrior Of The Wasteland from Death Inc. I just can't bring myself to use the head that came with the kit (see photo below). Its not a bad sculpt and I'm sure it was done deliberately in order to avoid harassment over licensing, but in my opinion it strays too far from Mel Gibson's lik...

Re: Looking for advice on changing careers (after 50)
I recently went to a Farmer’s Market for the first time in years and was surprised by 3 things. First was the wide variety of things that people were making and selling. Second was that someone behind the scenes was organizing multiple Markets in the general area and making a living doing so. Third,...

Re: The Devil Bat
Always glad someone enjoys my warped humor. You need to read some of the nutty stuff I put on Escape Hatch pages, I'm surprised Todd let's me get away with it.
Now I have another reason to look through the Escape Hatch site.

Spock, I just read your write up for the Gallery post and I'm so glad I left it to you. Almost fell off my chair laughing - the Old Spice reference is too funny!

Re: The Devil Bat
Thanks Spock for adding to the Gallery - I intended to do that, but you beat me to it. Thanks Trevor, Barad_dur, Spock and Bucketfoot-al for your kind comments. My photography skills (like my modeling skills) leave a lot to be desired, so I don't think the photos do the sculpt justice. Also, I patte...

The Devil Bat
My first build of 2024, feels good to finally get one on the board. This is a conversion of the Moebius Dr Jekyll plastic kit, but the conversion pieces are all resin. Escape Hatch sells the conversion kit and it comes with the upper torso/arms/hands, 2 heads, nameplate and the Bat. The rest is from...
