Re: Season 25 of what's on my bench.

Oh yeah, another thing I discovered this weekend. Vallejo paints are almost as bad to thin as craft paint :o That stuff is THICK! Have you ever tried stirring a fresh tinlet of Humbrol enamel Trev? You have to use a metal stir stick, the wooden ones just break in two. Back in the day Australia was ...

Re: Alien : Earth

Hit " (quote) to read. Wow, that's out of left field but fascinating. I think the T-Ocellus is the best/most interesting thing about Alien: Earth. It's a great monster/alien, one of the most unique created. It knocks the Xenomorph off the podium. It adds some fascinating plot possibilities incl...

Re: resin figure kit

I have to caution against using CA with baking soda (bicarb) as a gap filler. Many years ago I customized a 1940 Ford model, using CA and baking soda for all the bodywork. Now, those areas have dark oily-looking stains, and the filler has deteriorated. Best IMHO to use a two-part epoxy putty (Milli...

Re: resin figure kit

While I do not approach Derek's expertise on these issues, I will share my experience. I find CA glue to be more than adequate for most human figures especially as Derek says, when there is a lock and key connection of the limbs to the body. For those that don't, I will pin if I feel the pose puts s...

Re: Alien : Earth

Contains spoilers. Select " to read. While "In Space, No One..." was reasonable, the latest episode "The Fly" really does strain credulity with its logic and the choices of its characters. This show wants to create the threat and thrill of these incredibly dangerous alien or...

Yeah, it looks a lot better. It's a massively powerful stance suggestive of a very aggressive being. He's not much of runner though. 8)

Re: Kitbash: Hell-Taur new pics 2025-09-03

Joe I've been pondering what the issue is with the lower abdomen and why it looks wrong to me. I think LOBOREX has hit the nail on the head. There is no pelvis. The ventral plate column keeps marching straight down into the crotch, so the hip–groin transition reads like a hanging codpiece rather tha...

Re: Kitbash: Hell-Taur new pics 2025-09-01

I think you're onto something when you question the size. Like a gravel path where the stones are too big. The plates are not suggestive of a large animal. Too bad because the abdomen armour is really well sculpted. I couldn't get AI to make exactly what I wanted but it might spark off something: ht...

Re: Kolchak - The Night Stalker

At the risk of asking the magician to reveal one trick too many, are the eyes waterslide decals? No secrets here, I believe in sharing all techniques. A rising tide floats all boats, as they say. For the eyes I actually did trust my relatively steady hand. They were hand painted using a fine brush....

:like I like your swipe at another arm position. It certainly begs the question of what is it doing? Swiping or Swinging: The creature may be slashing/hitting out. Grasping or Reaching: The creature might be extending its arm to grab something—perhaps prey, an object, or even a ledge. The fin...

And no, Steve, I couldn't trust myself to do the work by hand. The pinstriping was all done one stra...

Great job. It's so important in these busts to nail the eyes, as you've done here. And the plinth looks great without drawing too much attention as you planned.
