Re: Question about 3D print results

I also agree by checking out Punished Props. Look for a video on finishing Mr. Handy. Bill has a very set method of sanding, then filler primer and sanding and bondo etc. Bill also did a good video on MatterHackers site.

As expected somebody has already modeled it free for printing.

Re: Oblivion - 1/35 Bubbleship and skytower 49

Tim,
That was the tile I kept finding when I did my search. Of course then I got lost looking at pictures of the Bradbury and from there my mind went down the rabbit hole and I started thinking what an incredible model the staircase would make. No wonder I never finish anything.

Re: Oblivion - 1/35 Bubbleship and skytower 49

Thanks Dave! I liked the visuals in the movie much better than the plot. Plus the sounds of the machines made them feel like actors. I just know I would love a glass bottom pool and a hotrod flying machine and this model is as close as I will get.

Thank You Pete and Tim for the compliments.
Tim I am not sure which tile you are talking about and thanks for the vote of confidence but I can't take any commissions for a few months.

Thank you all, thank you a lot. I am excited everybody likes this so much. I need to get back on it again. I have been wanting to post it for a while and thanks to the Clubhouse picture hosting I finally could share it.

Re: Oblivion - 1/35 Bubbleship and skytower 49

Thanks Geoff. Lots of space but imagine how cool it will be as a nightlight with over 30 neopixels. It is a big challenge timetraveler and maybe too big for my skill and easily distracted brain. This image is my lighting plan. The pink lines are holes in the ceiling that I will add printed lenses to...

Mold Builder is what I have been using. It stinks but it is nice and strong so it all comes off together. My last jug jelled up so I need to get more.

Re: Oblivion - 1/35 Bubbleship and skytower 49

Thank you Ric and Grymm-One I think it will be incredible if I ever finish the thing. I stopped working on it right before Wonderfest this year so I could work on a stop motion short and I have not found the energy to start working on the house again. Plus now I need to repair some damage caused by ...

Re: Oblivion - 1/35 Bubbleship and skytower 49

Thanks for the kind words. Here are some more images including some renders I made of the house. Plus a picture of some of the furniture and the med bay. The picture of the stairs is one of two sets that are straight. This set leads from the pool to the lower level. The final picture is of the main ...

Re: Oblivion - 1/35 Bubbleship and skytower 49

Not only did I want the landing pad but I also wanted the glass bottom swimming pool and the cool design of the house that was in the movie. The landing pad has blinking lights and the house will have another 30 lights in it that you will be able to control with your phone. The project has stalled b...

Oblivion - 1/35 Bubbleship and skytower 49

I knew when I bought a 3D printer I wanted to make small models for myself. In August of 2015 I decided that I would build a 1/35 scale Bubbleship from the movie Oblivion. While I was building the model I was trying to find a way to display it. So I modeled the landing pad and then the idea hit me t...

Re: Pacific Rim Uprising

There are at least 3 rogue mechs. At the 40 second mark in the trailer two mechs fire rockets on a control center. The mech design looks much sleeker and more alien than good guys. When I first saw the trailer I thought "Great the mech pilots will fight then become friends and save the world.&q...

Re: This may have potential ! - The Orville

Hate that it moved to Thursdays because I simply forget about it and the DVR is recording two shows that night which is its max limit. Luckily the episodes are now on demand so I got to see episode 3 and 5 last night. Episode 3 (Baby sex change) - Good episode and never in a million years would I ha...

I got to see it. Knew nothing about the movie going in other than it was a book my entire family had read but me and that there was a previous movie. I enjoyed the movie big time and my only disappointment was that I was expecting to be scared and screaming and I wasn't. I am very jumpy and easily s...

Re: New Tomb Raider

I am sure I won't go see it in theaters but I believe Vikander was a good cast choice. Enjoyed her work in Ex Machina and watched her working out for Tomb Raider showing off her back muscle definition. She looks close enough to Lara from "Rise of the Tomb Raider" that this could possibly w...
