MODEL CON 419
If you're within driving distance of northwest Ohio, you might want to check out MODEL CON 419. It's an IPMS event that will be held on Saturday, April 20 in Perrysburg, OH. It's being co-hosted by the chapter of which I'm a member, the IPMS/Fremont KitBashers, and the Toledo Plastic Modelers club....

Re: Rest in peace "Night-Owl" RICK EVANS
At the end of the last MCTV we featured a video tribute to Rick. Here is a link to just that part! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aE2eclFrsgA&t=1s :like Beautifully done. Your video actually got me a little teary. And you showed a lot of Rick's models I'd never seen before. WonderFest isn't go...

Re: Rest in peace "Night-Owl" RICK EVANS
It's a certainty that almost every member of The Clubhouse has a Night-Owl item on their model shelves or in their stashes. Rick's passing is a great loss not only to friends and family, but to everyone whose models were improved by Rick's work. Happy landings, Night-Owl!

Re: R.I.P. Mr. Tom Parker
I have several projects that involve Cult of Personality items and every time I work on (or merely plan) one, I remember Tom fondly. He will be represented on model display shelves and contest tables for years to come. And sadly missed as for as long.

Dave,
I just checked and had no problems with the link. Maybe there was a burp in the system? Thanks for sharing the condolences link, that works fine.

Re: R.I.P. Mr. Tom Parker
I never met Tom in person, but we talked quite a bit through Internet and telephone conversations. Still, the news hit me hard. He was a generous, informative, and funny conversationalist. His products are outstanding, and I have a lot of them in my stash. His passing is an enormous loss for all of ...

Saw your post over on the IPMS/USA forums. Your model looks just as good over here, budz!

Re: The Great Flash Gordon Invitational Community Build
Yeah, ran into the epaulet thing myself. It wasn't a huge problem, though, as I was removing the air tanks straps anyway. What out for Flash's left hand - it's easy to damage when getting it off the sprue. Sometimes it seems to have been poorly formed.

Re: The Great Flash Gordon Invitational Community Build
Hello, all! I hope everybody has had an enjoyable Labor Day, and are enjoying their labors on their Flash Gordon kits! There are some updates I'd like to share with you as we enter the final month of The Great Flash Gordon Community Build. Since I started the thing, I'll go first: finally got to the...

Re: The Great Flash Gordon Invitational Community Build
Right, billie, but I like the wire. I get it for free whenever the phone company works on the junction boxes behind my house, which is weekly. The bare wire is just the right diameter to replace the molded hoses, and if I leave a little insulation at the ends - voila! - I have connectors! However, t...

Re: The Great Flash Gordon Invitational Community Build
I did the same thing. Also removed the straps for the air tanks. Plenty of filling and sanding by the time that was done, I can tell you - especially as I'm doing a shiny finish on my Flash's space suit. Wire will replaces the air lines and lead foil will become the new straps.

Re: The Great Flash Gordon Invitational Community Build
billie, That's the only possibility I could see, using one of the lower rings to mount your single piece helmet. If this works, you could end up with the greatest Flash ever - are you really willing to take on that responsibility? Of course even then, there would still be the question of how...

Re: The Great Flash Gordon Invitational Community Build
Great job with a different color scheme. I wonder who will be next to complete it? Won't be me. I've been slogging away with a different approach and haven't been able to post photos on HobbyTalk. I don't want to have to sign up for another web site to post photos. So maybe I'll just give up and po...
